4. Setup Instructions

4.1. Wireless Mode (2.4G)

  1. Insert the 8K receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  2. Turn on the mouse using the switch on the bottom.
  3. The mouse should automatically connect to the receiver. If not, refer to the software section for pairing instructions.

4.2. Wired Mode

  1. Connect the USB-C end of the high-speed data cable to the mouse.
  2. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer.
  3. The mouse will automatically switch to wired mode and begin charging.

4.3. Software Installation (A Hub)

For full customization and advanced features, download and install the "A Hub" software from the official Rapoo website. This software allows for:

  • Button remapping and macro creation.
  • DPI level adjustment and X/Y axis independent settings.
  • Polling rate configuration.
  • Power management and battery status monitoring.
  • Configuration file storage (on-board and cloud) and automatic switching with applications.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Button Functions

  • Left Button: Primary click function.
  • Right Button: Secondary click function (context menu).
  • Scroll Wheel: Scroll up/down, Middle click (press down).
  • Forward Side Key: Default function is 'Forward' in web browsers/applications.
  • Backward Side Key: Default function is 'Backward' in web browsers/applications.
  • DIY Independent Key: This button can be customized via the A Hub software to switch DPI, change parameter modes, or other functions. It is designed to prevent accidental touches.

5.2. DPI Adjustment

The mouse supports a wide DPI range from 10 to 45000. You can cycle through preset DPI levels using the dedicated DPI button (if configured) or customize them precisely using the A Hub software. The DPI indicator light on the 8K receiver will change color to indicate the current DPI gear.

5.3. Polling Rate

The mouse supports polling rates up to 8000Hz in both wireless and wired modes. Higher polling rates provide more responsive tracking but consume more battery. You can adjust the polling rate via the A Hub software to suit your needs.

5.4. Charging the Mouse

Connect the mouse to your computer using the provided USB-C cable. The mouse features fast charging, providing approximately 6.5 hours of usage from just a 1-minute charge. The battery level indicator on the 8K receiver will show the charging status and current battery level:

  • 100%-80%: Green light
  • 79%-60%: Yellow-green light
  • 59%-40%: Yellow light
  • 39%-20%: Orange light
  • Below 19%: Red light (slow flash)

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the mouse surface. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Foot Pads: The mouse is equipped with "ice-feel" e-sports foot pads made of 99.95% Teflon. These can be replaced if they wear out. A spare set of foot pads is included in the package.
  • Storage: Store the mouse in a dry environment away from extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Mouse not responding:
    • Ensure the mouse is turned on.
    • Check battery level and charge if necessary.
    • For wireless mode, ensure the 8K receiver is securely plugged into a USB port. Try a different USB port.
    • For wired mode, ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the mouse and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
    • Restart your computer.
  • Lag or erratic movement:
    • Ensure the mouse surface is clean and free of obstructions.
    • Check for interference in wireless mode (e.g., other 2.4Ghz devices).
    • Try adjusting the polling rate in the A Hub software.
    • Ensure the mouse firmware is up to date via the A Hub software.
  • Buttons not working:
    • Check button assignments in the A Hub software.
    • Ensure no software conflicts are present.
