4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Initial Unlock

When using the headlight for the first time, it is in a locked state to prevent accidental activation during transit. To unlock:

  • Method 1: Rapidly press the power button six times within 10 seconds.

4.2 Mounting Options

The Haoyue Mini Headlight offers versatile mounting options to suit your preference and riding style, supporting both upright (Formal attire) and inverted (Hoisting) positions. This helps resolve glare issues caused by traditional light installations.

4.3 Switching Mounting Buckles

To switch between formal and suspension mounting, you may need to adjust the headlight clips:

  1. Remove the reverse-side snap-in plug.
  2. Use a 3mm hex key to adjust the position of the headlight clips.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power Button and Mode Switching

The headlight features a single button for power control and mode switching. Refer to the diagram below for button location and battery display.

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the button for a few seconds.
  • Switch Modes: While the device is powered on, click the button to cycle through the lighting modes.

5.2 Lighting Modes

The headlight offers five distinct lighting modes for various riding scenarios:

  • High: 1000Lm, approx. 2 hours runtime.
  • Medium: 500Lm, approx. 2.8 hours runtime.
  • Low: 200Lm, approx. 4.5 hours runtime.
  • Moonlight Mode: 50Lm, approx. 2-2.5 hours runtime.
  • SOS: 800-200Lm, approx. 25 hours runtime.

5.3 Smart Features

  • Vibration Start/Stop: In Smart Mode, the light automatically turns off within 30 seconds after parking and wakes up with vibration, saving power and effort.
  • Smart Light Sensor: In Smart Mode, the headlights automatically turn on when entering a tunnel or when the environment becomes darker, and turn off when it's bright enough.

5.4 Cutoff Line Design

The headlight features a clear cutoff line design to eliminate glare for oncoming traffic and pedestrians, ensuring safe riding. Even when mounted overhead, the light beam remains disciplined.

6. Maintenance and Care

6.1 Charging

Charge the headlight using the provided Type-C USB cable. Connect it to a standard USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter). The battery percentage display will indicate the charging status.

6.2 Cleaning

Wipe the headlight body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the aluminum alloy casing or lens.

6.3 Waterproofing

The headlight has an IPX6 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against high-pressure water jets from any direction. It is suitable for use in rainy conditions but should not be submerged in water.

6.4 Storage

Store the headlight in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% every few months to prolong its lifespan.

6.5 Temperature Control and Protection

The headlight incorporates smart temperature control and low voltage protection. A loop algorithm and technology protection build dual safeguards, protecting headlight circuits and battery safety.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Light does not turn on: Ensure the battery is charged. If it's the first use, make sure the device is unlocked (refer to Section 4.1).
  • Light turns off unexpectedly: Check battery level. If below 10%, it may switch to Moonlight Mode. Recharge if necessary.
  • Smart features not working: Ensure the light is in Smart Mode. Check for any obstructions to the light sensor.
  • Mount feels loose: Re-tighten the mounting screws or adjust the clips using a 3mm hex key (refer to Section 4.3).

  • Always ensure your headlight is fully charged before long rides, especially at night.
