3. Setup Guide
3.1 Connectivity Modes
The keyboard supports three connection modes: Wired, 2.4G Wireless, and Bluetooth. Use the switch on the left side of the keyboard to select your desired mode.
- OFF (Wired Mode): The power indicator light will be green.
- BT (Bluetooth Mode): The M indicator light will be blue, cyan, or pink.
- 2.4G (Wireless Mode): The M indicator light will be yellow.
3.2 Pairing Instructions
3.2.1 Bluetooth Pairing
- Switch the keyboard to BT mode.
- Press and hold FN + 1!, FN + 2@, or FN + 3# for 3 seconds to enter the corresponding Bluetooth pairing mode.
- The M indicator light (blue, cyan, or pink) will flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
- On your device (computer, tablet, etc.), search for Bluetooth devices and select "E-YOOSO Keyboard" (or similar).
- Once successfully paired, the M indicator light will remain solid.
3.2.2 2.4G Wireless Pairing
- Switch the keyboard to 2.4G mode.
- Press and hold FN + 4$ for 3 seconds to enter 2.4G pairing mode.
- The M indicator light will flash yellow.
- Plug the 2.4G USB receiver into your computer.
- Once successfully paired, the M indicator light will remain solid yellow.
3.3 Operating System Switching
The keyboard defaults to Windows system. To switch between operating systems:
- For Mac OS: Press FN + A. The indicator light below the key will flash red 3 times.
- For Windows OS: Press FN + W. The indicator light below the key will flash red 3 times.
3.4 Charging the Keyboard
Connect the keyboard to a computer or a USB charging adapter using the provided Type-C USB cable. During charging, the battery indicator light will be solid red. Once fully charged, it will turn green.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Backlight Control
- Cycle Lighting Modes: Press FN + INS to cycle through 15 different backlight effects (e.g., flowing wave, ripple, sine wave, rotating windmill, colorful waterfall, blooming flowers, constant light, breathing, dreamy rainbow, instant trigger, walking in the rain, key ripple, twinkling stars, footprints in the snow, flowing stream).
- Adjust Backlight Brightness: Press FN + ↑ (Up Arrow) or FN + ↓ (Down Arrow) to adjust brightness. There are 5 levels. The 'A' indicator light will flash 3 times when reaching the maximum or minimum level.
- Adjust Backlight Speed: Press FN + ← (Left Arrow) or FN + → (Right Arrow) to adjust the speed of dynamic lighting effects. There are 5 levels. The 'A' indicator light will flash 3 times when reaching the maximum or minimum speed.
- Cycle Backlight Colors: Press FN + ENTER to switch between various monochrome colors (red, green, blue, yellow, pink, cyan, white) and RGB modes for certain effects.

4.2 Multi-function Knob
The knob on the top right of the keyboard has dual functions:
- Default (Volume Control):
- Turn clockwise: Increase volume.
- Turn counter-clockwise: Decrease volume.
- Short press: Mute/unmute audio.
- Backlight Adjustment Mode:
- Long press the knob for 3 seconds: The keyboard lights will flash twice, and the knob will switch to backlight adjustment mode.

4.4 Custom Light Recording
- Press FN + BACKSPACE to enter custom light mode. By default, ESC, A, S, D, W, and arrow keys will be lit.
- Press FN + BACKSPACE again to enter recording mode. The 'A' indicator light will flash continuously.
- Press any key repeatedly to cycle through colors for that key. Continue setting other keys to form your desired backlight pattern.
- Once finished, press FN + BACKSPACE to save the settings.
- To play the recorded light macro, press FN + BACKSPACE. The customized keys will light up. (Note: The FN key itself cannot be customized).
4.5 Battery Level Display
To check the battery level, press FN + ALT. The entire backlight will turn off, and the number keys 1! through 0) will display the battery level:
- 1! to 3# keys lit red: Low battery.
- 3# and above keys lit green: Higher battery level.
Release FN + ALT to restore the default backlight effect.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Hot-Swappable Switches
The E-YOOSO Z-82 supports hot-swapping of all keys, allowing you to easily replace mechanical switches without soldering. This enables customization of your typing feel.
- Pull out the keycaps: Use the included keycap puller to carefully remove the desired keycap.
- Unplug the switch: Use the switch puller (often integrated with the keycap puller) to gently pull out the mechanical switch.
- Press in new switch: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and press it firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure the pins are not bent.
- Install keycaps: Place the keycap back onto the new switch.


5.2 Cleaning
To clean your keyboard, first disconnect it from your device. Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with a small amount of water or a mild cleaning solution. For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps and use compressed air to clear debris from under the keys.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Connectivity Issues
- Wireless/Bluetooth not connecting: Ensure the keyboard is in the correct mode (2.4G or BT) using the side switch. Re-attempt pairing as described in Section 3.2.
- Intermittent connection: Check for interference from other wireless devices. Ensure the keyboard is within range of the receiver/Bluetooth device.
6.2 Backlight or Key Function Issues
- Backlight not working: Check battery level. If below 3.3V, the backlight will turn off. Ensure backlight is not turned off via FN+SPACE.
- Keyboard unresponsive: If battery voltage drops below 3.0V, keyboard functions will cease. Recharge the keyboard.
6.3 Factory Reset
If you encounter persistent issues or wish to clear all custom settings and macros, you can perform a factory reset:
- Press and hold FN + ESC for 3 seconds. This will restore the keyboard to its factory default settings and clear all stored macros.
