4. Setup and Installation
The YEELIGHT Motion Sensing Color Night Light features a strong magnetic base for easy and stable placement on various surfaces.
- Choose a Location: Select a suitable location for your night light. The magnetic base allows for versatile mounting on metallic surfaces.
- Attach Magnetic Base Plate (if needed): If mounting on a non-metallic surface, use the provided magnetic base plate. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before attaching the plate.
- Mount the Night Light: Simply attach the night light to the magnetic base plate or directly to a metallic surface.

5. Operating Modes
The night light features a toggle switch and a mode switch button to control its operation and lighting effects.

5.1. Toggle Switch Settings
- ON: The light will remain constantly on.
- OFF: The light will be turned off.
- AUTO: The light enters an auto-sensing state. It will light up automatically in the dark when motion is detected.
5.2. Motion and Light Sensing
In AUTO mode, the night light utilizes dual sensors (ambient light and radar motion) to detect movement and ambient light levels. It will only activate in dark environments when motion is detected, conserving battery life.

5.3. RGB Lighting Effects
The night light offers 11 custom lighting effects, including 6 dynamic and 5 solid color options. To cycle through these effects, press the Mode Switch Button located near the Type-C charging port.
6. Charging
The night light is equipped with a 750 mAh rechargeable battery. To charge the device, connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the Type-C port on the night light and a suitable USB power source.

A full charge can provide up to 90 days of battery life in Auto mode (based on lighting up three times a day; actual battery life may vary based on usage).

- For optimal motion sensing performance, place the night light in an area where its sensor has a clear line of sight to the expected path of movement.
- Avoid placing the night light in direct sunlight or near strong light sources, as this may interfere with the ambient light sensor in AUTO mode.
- Experiment with different RGB lighting effects to find the perfect ambiance for your space.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the night light. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.
- Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, ensure it is fully charged and stored in a cool, dry place.
9. Troubleshooting
- Light not turning on:
- Check if the battery is charged. Connect the Type-C cable to recharge.
- Ensure the toggle switch is not in the 'OFF' position.
- In 'AUTO' mode, verify that the ambient environment is dark enough and motion is detected.
- Motion sensor not working:
- Make sure the night light is in 'AUTO' mode.
- Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the sensor.
- Confirm the room is sufficiently dark for the sensor to activate.
- Light effects not changing:
- Press the Mode Switch Button firmly to cycle through the effects.
