5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

The ST8100B requires three (3) 1.5V AAA batteries for operation. Batteries are not included with the device.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover open in the direction indicated.
  3. Insert three 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as marked inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2. Initial Power On

Press and hold the On/Off button (usually the red power button) until the display illuminates. The device will perform a self-test and then enter the measurement mode.

6.1. Taking Measurements

Once powered on, the device will automatically begin measuring oxygen concentration in the surrounding environment. The current oxygen percentage and temperature will be displayed on the HD backlit LCD screen.

6.2. Changing Units

Press the 'UNIT' key to cycle through available measurement units if applicable (e.g., for temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit).

6.3. Setting Alarm Values

The ST8100B allows you to set both low and high alarm thresholds for oxygen concentration.

  1. Enter the alarm setting mode (refer to the device's on-screen prompts or specific button combinations if available).
  2. Use the '▲' (Sound) and '▼' (Backlight) keys to adjust the 'LO ALM' (Low Alarm) value.
  3. Confirm the low alarm setting.
