Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Coffee Machine 868 for the first time:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
  2. Place the Machine: Position the coffee machine on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface, away from water sources.
  3. Water Tank Injection: Fill the 1.8L water tank with fresh, cold water. Ensure the tank is properly seated.
  4. Initial Rinse: Before first use, run a cycle without coffee to clean the internal components. Fill the water tank, place a cup under the coffee outlet, and run a "Single" or "Double" cycle. Repeat for the steam wand.

Operating Instructions

The Coffee Machine 868 offers intuitive touch controls for various coffee preparations.

Making Espresso

  1. Prepare Coffee Powder: Grind fresh coffee beans to a fine espresso grind.
  2. Fill Portafilter: Add the desired amount of coffee powder to the portafilter.
  3. Tamp: Use a tamper to smooth and compact the coffee powder evenly.
  4. Install Portafilter: Securely install the portafilter into the brewing head.
  5. Select Brew Mode: Place your cup(s) under the portafilter. On the smart touch screen, select "SINGLE" for one shot or "DOUBLE" for two shots. The machine will automatically extract the espresso.
  6. Manual Mode: For custom extraction, select "MANUAL" and press again to stop when desired volume is reached.

Frothing Milk

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a milk frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
  2. Activate Steam: On the smart touch screen, select "STEAM". Wait for the machine to heat up and produce steam.
  3. Froth Milk: Immerse the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk. Turn the steam knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
  4. Adjust Steam Density: The steam wand allows for adjustable steam to control milk foam density.
  5. Clean Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth and briefly release steam to clear any milk residue.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your coffee machine.

  • Daily Cleaning:
    • Empty and clean the drip tray after each use.
    • Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
    • Clean the steam wand immediately after use to prevent milk residue buildup.
    • Remove and rinse the portafilter and filter basket after each use.
  • Weekly Cleaning:
    • Remove and thoroughly clean the water tank.
    • Clean the brewing head with a brush to remove coffee grounds.
  • Descaling:
