4. Setup Guide

4.1 Attaching the Light to Your Phone

1. For MagSafe-compatible Phones: Simply align the Ulanzi LM23 with the MagSafe area on the back of your iPhone. The powerful magnets will securely attach the light.
2. For Non-MagSafe Phones: Use the provided Magnetic Ring Sticker. Clean the back of your phone or phone case thoroughly. Peel off the adhesive backing from the magnetic ring sticker and firmly press it onto the desired location on your phone or case. Once the sticker is applied, you can magnetically attach the LM23 light.

4.2 Adjusting the Light Angle

The LM23 offers flexible positioning:

• 180° Flip: The light panel can be flipped 180 degrees to direct light forward (for selfies) or backward (for main camera use).
• 360° Rotation: The light head can rotate a full 360 degrees to achieve optimal illumination from any direction.

4.3 Using as a Phone Stand

The foldable design allows the LM23 to function as a phone stand in three modes:

• Screen Hook: Attach the light to the top edge of a laptop or monitor, with your phone magnetically attached to the light, for an elevated viewing experience.
• Upright Mode: Fold the light into a stable base to prop your phone upright on a flat surface.
• Finger Ring Grip: Use the folded light as a comfortable finger grip for secure handling of your phone.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Locate the power button on the side of the light. Press and hold to turn the light on or off.

5.2 Adjusting Brightness and Color Temperature

The Ulanzi LM23 features stepless control for both brightness and color temperature:

• Brightness Adjustment: Use the dedicated brightness knob/slider to increase or decrease the light intensity from 0% to 100%.
• Color Temperature Adjustment: Use the color temperature knob/slider to change the light's warmth or coolness, ranging from 2500K (warm, orange light) to 8500K (cool, blue light).

5.3 Charging the Device

Connect the provided USB-A to USB-C charging cable to the USB-C input port on the LM23 and a suitable USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, computer USB port). The charging time is approximately 1.5 hours. The light can be used continuously while charging.

5.4 Using the Built-in Mirror

Open the light to reveal the built-in mirror. This allows you to check your appearance or framing before taking photos or starting a live stream.

6. Care and Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the LED light. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Storage: When not in use, store the light in its provided storage pouch to protect it from dust and scratches. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
• Avoid Water: This device is not waterproof. Avoid exposure to water or high humidity.

7. Troubleshooting

• Light does not turn on:
  • Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source using the USB-C cable.
  • Press and hold the power button for a few seconds to ensure it's properly activated.
• Light is dim or flickers:
  • Check the brightness setting and adjust it using the brightness knob.
  • Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. Low battery can cause dimming or flickering.
• Magnetic attachment is weak:
  • Ensure the phone or case surface is clean and flat.
  • If using the magnetic ring sticker, ensure it is properly adhered and not damaged.
  • Verify that your phone or case is compatible with MagSafe or has the magnetic ring sticker correctly applied.
