6. Setup

6.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open it.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

6.2. Initial Power On

Press the Power button (Power button icon) to turn on the device. The display will light up, showing the current angle reading.

7. Operation

7.1. Measurement Modes (ABS/REF)

The AG01 offers two measurement modes:

  • Absolute (ABS) Mode: Measures angles relative to a true horizontal (0° = perfect level). This is the default mode upon power-on.
  • Relative (REF) Mode: Measures angles relative to any set base. You can set the current position as 0° for relative measurements.

To switch between ABS and REF modes, press the REF/ABS button.

7.2. Unit Conversion (Degrees/Percentage)

The device can display angles in degrees (°) or as a percentage of slope (%).

  • To switch between these units, long-press the HOLD/UNITS button.

7.3. Angle Hold Function

To freeze the current angle reading on the display:

  • Short-press the HOLD/UNITS button. The display will show 'HOLD'.
  • Press the button again to release the hold and resume live measurement.

7.4. Automatic Screen Flip

The display automatically rotates 180° when the device is inverted, ensuring that the readings are always upright and easy to read from any angle.

7.6. Automatic Shutdown
