The GEYA GPS8 series Voltage/Current Protector is designed to safeguard household equipment from overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent conditions. It features precise metering capabilities for voltage, current, electricity, and power consumption. The GPS8-06 model includes WiFi connectivity for remote control, electrical energy monitoring, and timed opening/closing functions.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1. Safety Precautions

  • Caution: The products must be installed by qualified electricians. All electrical connections must comply with appropriate safety standards.
  • Important Note: This product does not have an isolation function. Always disconnect the superior Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) during maintenance to ensure safety.

3.2. Mounting

The device is designed for DIN rail mounting, conforming to EN/IEC 60715 standards.

3.3. Wiring Diagram

Refer to Figure 4 for the correct wiring connections. Ensure that the Neutral (N) and Line (IN) connections are made as indicated on the device and in the diagram.

4. Operation

4.1. Panel Overview and Button Functions

  • Indicators:
    • >U: Over voltage indicator
    • <U: Under voltage indicator
    • >I: Over current indicator
    • Power open and close indicator
  • Display: Shows operating voltage value, operating current value, and WiFi status indication.
  • Buttons:
    • M (Setting Key): Press and hold for 3 seconds to enter settings. After modifying, press and hold for 3 seconds to save.
    • Up/WiFi Button:
      1. Used to increase the value when setting parameters.
      2. Press and hold for 5 seconds to reconfigure WiFi.
    • Down/Power Button:
      1. Used to reduce the value when setting parameters.
      2. After exiting settings, it can manually turn on or off the load.
      3. If automatic fault reset is off, this button can manually reset faults.

4.3. Parameter Setting

To enter parameter setting mode, press and hold the M key for 3 seconds. Refer to the 'Parameter setting' flowchart in Figure 4. Use the Up and Down buttons to adjust values. Short presses increase/decrease by one step, long presses allow for quick adjustment. Press M again for 3 seconds to save settings and exit. If no key is operated for 60 seconds, it will exit automatically without saving.

Factory Reset: In the power-off state, press and hold the Up and Down buttons simultaneously, then power on the device to restore factory settings.

4.4. Manual Load Control

Under normal operation, the connected load can be manually switched on or off by pressing the Down/Power button for 0.5 seconds. Refer to the 'Open and close manually' section in Figure 4.

4.5. Power-on and Reset Delay

During power-on or after a fault reset, the device will display a countdown according to the configured delay time. Once the countdown finishes, the device will enter its normal running state. Refer to the 'Power-on and reset delay' section in Figure 4.

4.6. Query Electricity and Power

The device can display real-time voltage, current, power, and accumulated electricity consumption (kWh). Refer to the 'Query electricity and power' section in Figure 4.

Figure 5 illustrates the timing sequences for overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent protection, including recovery and action delays.

4.8. WiFi Configuration (GPS8-06 only)

WiFi configuration instructions. Shows the device display during WiFi setup. To configure, press and hold the Up/WiFi button for 5 seconds. The WiFi indicator flashes when waiting for configuration, is solid when connected, and off when disconnected. A QR code on the product side links to the app. This image also contains notes on button usage and device dimensions.

  • Locate the QR code on the side of the product, scan it, and download the corresponding application.
  • Press and hold the Up/WiFi button for 5 seconds to enter WiFi configuration mode. The WiFi indicator will flash.
  • Open the downloaded app and follow the prompts to configure the WiFi connection.
  • WiFi Indicator Status:
    • Solid ON: WiFi signal is good, device is connected.
    • Flashing: Waiting for WiFi configuration.
    • OFF: WiFi cannot be connected.
  • Note: Please ensure that your WiFi network is 2.4GHz.

5. Maintenance and Safety

5.1. General Maintenance

Regularly check the device for any visible damage or loose connections. Ensure the environment is within the specified operating and storage temperatures.

5.2. Electrical Safety

  • As this product does not have an isolation function, always disconnect the superior Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) before performing any maintenance or inspection on the device.

5.3. Disposal of Electrical Waste

All electrical waste should be disposed of in compliance with current WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) regulations. Do not dispose of with general household waste.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Check the main power supply and ensure all wiring connections are secure according to the wiring diagram (Figure 4).
  • Load not turning on/off: Verify the manual control function by pressing the Down/Power button. Check if any fault indicators (>U, <U, >I) are active.
  • Fault indicator active: The device is protecting against an overvoltage, undervoltage, or overcurrent condition. Check the connected load and power supply for issues. If automatic fault reset is off, use the Down/Power button for manual reset.
  • WiFi connection issues (GPS8-06 only):
    • Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz.
    • Check the WiFi indicator status (Figure 6): flashing means waiting for configuration, solid means connected, off means unable to connect.
    • Try reconfiguring WiFi by holding the Up/WiFi button for 5 seconds.
    • Ensure the device is within range of your WiFi router.
  • Incorrect parameter settings: Refer to the 'Parameter setting' flowchart and table (Figure 4) to reconfigure values. Remember to save changes by holding the M button for 3 seconds.
  • Device unresponsive: Try performing a factory reset (power off, then hold Up and Down buttons while powering on).

7. User Tips

  • For quick adjustments during parameter setting, use a long press on the Up or Down buttons.
  • If you accidentally enter the setting mode, you can exit without saving by not operating any key for 60 seconds, or by pressing and holding the M button for 3 seconds.
  • Regularly monitor your electricity consumption via the display or the app (for GPS8-06) to identify potential energy savings.
