- The charging indicator will be bright red while charging.
- The indicator will extinguish when fully charged. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours and provides about 72 hours of use.
4.2 Power On/Off
- To Power On: Long press the Power Switch (3) until the display lights up.
- To Power Off: Long press the Power Switch (3) again. The device will also automatically shut down after approximately 12 minutes of inactivity.
4.3 Calibration Steps
The instrument may need recalibration due to impact or temperature changes to ensure measurement accuracy. Follow these steps:
- Turn on the instrument. Place it on a flat, horizontal surface.
- When "CA.d1" is displayed, ensure the instrument is in a normal measurement state. Long press the Power button and H/% key simultaneously.
- When "CA.d2" starts to flicker and beep, rotate the instrument 90° and lay it flat. Press the H/% key to confirm.
- When "CA.d3" starts to flicker and beep, rotate the instrument 180° and lay it flat. Press the H/% key to confirm.
- When "CA.d4" flashes and buzzes, turn the instrument 270° and lay it flat. Press the H/% key to confirm.
- When "CA.d5" flashes and buzzes, place the instrument display screen horizontally down on the edge of the plane (ensure the button is suspended). Press the H/% key to confirm.
- Wait until "CA.d6" is displayed on the screen, then press the H/% key. The screen will display "CA.d". After about 3 seconds, the instrument calibration is complete, and it enters normal measurement mode.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Measurement Modes
The inclinometer supports two primary measurement modes:
- Absolute Measurement Mode: Measures the angle relative to a true horizontal plane (0.00°).
- Relative Measurement Mode: Allows you to set any current angle as a temporary zero reference (0.00°) to measure subsequent angles relative to that point. To activate, short press the ZERO button. To return to absolute measurement, long press the ZERO button.
5.2 Automatic Screen Flip
The device features an intelligent 360° automatic screen flip function. The display will automatically orient itself upright regardless of the instrument's rotation, ensuring easy readability without head tilting.
5.3 Magnetic Attraction
The inclinometer has strong magnets on all four sides, allowing it to be firmly attached to metal surfaces. This frees up your hands for more convenient and stable measurements.
5.4 Horizontal Laser Marking (RN03 Only)
The RN03 model features a horizontal laser for precise marking. Short press the Power Switch (3) to activate or deactivate the laser level light.
5.5 Data Retention (HOLD Function)
To retain the current measurement on the display, long press the H/% button (4). The 'HOLD' indicator will appear on the screen. Long press again to release the data retention and resume live measurement.
6. Applications
The ANENG Digital Inclinometer is suitable for a wide range of applications:
- Construction: Measuring angles for building works, foundations, and structural elements.
- Woodworking: Setting angles for table saws, miter saws, and other tools.
- Industrial Maintenance: Checking alignment of machinery and equipment.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Measuring vehicle underbody inclination for alignment or repair.
- DIY Projects: General angle finding and leveling tasks.
- Slope Detection: Measuring slopes for roads, ramps, and drainage systems.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the inclinometer in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge when the battery indicator is low. If storing for extended periods, charge the device every few months.
- Avoid Impact: Protect the device from drops and strong impacts, as this can affect its accuracy and internal components.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a USB-C charger and check the charging indicator.
- Inaccurate readings: Perform a full calibration as described in Section 4.3. Ensure the measurement surface is stable and free from vibrations.
- "Err" displayed on screen: This typically indicates a measurement error or an unstable reading. Re-position the device and try again. If it persists, recalibrate the device.
- Laser not working (RN03 only): Ensure the device is powered on and the battery is charged. Short press the Power Switch (3) to toggle the laser.

10. User Tips
- Choose the Right Model: If horizontal laser marking is a critical feature for your tasks, ensure you select the RN03 model. The RN02 offers the same digital inclinometer functionality without the laser.
- Regular Calibration: For the most accurate results, especially after transport or significant temperature changes, perform the calibration steps.
- Utilize Magnetic Base: Always use the magnetic base when working on metal surfaces to ensure stability and free your hands for other tasks.
- Relative Zero for Complex Angles: The relative measurement mode is excellent for measuring angles between two non-horizontal surfaces. Set the first surface as zero, then measure the second.
- Battery Life: Keep the device charged for uninterrupted work. The Type-C charging is convenient and fast.
