Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the JGINYUE X99 TITANIUM D3 motherboard. Please read this manual thoroughly before installing and using the product to ensure proper functionality and to prevent damage.

Setup and Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure your system is powered off and disconnected from the power source. Handle the motherboard by its edges to avoid static discharge.

1. Motherboard Layout

Refer to the diagram below for the main components and connection points on the motherboard.

2. CPU Installation

  1. Locate the LGA 2011-3 CPU socket.
  2. Open the CPU socket retention mechanism.
  3. Carefully align the Intel Xeon LGA 2011-3 pin processor with the socket, ensuring the triangular markers on the CPU and socket match.
  4. Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it.
  5. Close the retention mechanism to secure the CPU.
  6. Apply thermal paste to the CPU and install the CPU cooler.

3. RAM Installation

The motherboard supports four DDR3 memory slots for dual-channel operation.

  1. Open the clips at both ends of the DDR3 memory slots.
  2. Align the memory module with the slot, ensuring the notch on the module matches the key in the slot.
  3. Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.
  4. For dual-channel configuration, install memory modules in matching colored slots (if applicable) or as indicated in the wiring diagram.

4. Storage Device Installation

The motherboard provides various storage interfaces:

  • M.2 NVME/SATA: Two M.2 interfaces are available, supporting both NVME and SATA protocols. Install M.2 SSDs by inserting them into the slot and securing with a screw.
  • SATA Drives: Connect SATA data cables from your SATA hard drives or SSDs to the 4 SATA3.0 or 2 SATA2.0 ports on the motherboard. Ensure power cables are also connected to the drives.

5. Expansion Card Installation

The motherboard features multiple PCI Express slots:

  • 3 x PCI Express 3.0 X16 slots (two of which operate at X8 speeds)
  • 1 x PCI Express X1 slot
  • 1 x PCI Express X4 slot

Insert your graphics card or other expansion cards into the appropriate slots and secure them with the case's retention mechanism.

6. Power Connections

  • Connect the 24-pin ATX power cable from your power supply to the main 24-pin power connector on the motherboard.
  • Connect the 8-pin CPU power cable from your power supply to the 8-pin CPU power connector near the CPU socket.

7. Front Panel and Rear I/O Connections

Connect your case's front panel connectors (power button, reset button, HDD LED, power LED, front USB, front audio) to the corresponding pins on the motherboard as indicated in the wiring diagram (Figure 3).

  • PS/2 ports (for mouse/keyboard)
  • USB 2.0 ports (4 ports)

  • Gigabit Ethernet port
  • Audio interface ports

Connect your peripherals to these ports as needed.

8. Fan Connections

Connect case fans and CPU cooler fans to the available 3-pin fan headers on the motherboard.

Operating Instructions

1. Initial Power On

After all components are securely installed and connected, connect your system to a power outlet and press the power button on your computer case. The system should initiate the boot process.

2. BIOS/UEFI Access

To enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility, press the 'DEL' or 'F2' key repeatedly during the initial boot sequence (before the operating system loads). In the BIOS, you can configure boot order, system time, CPU settings, memory settings, and other hardware parameters.

3. Operating System Installation

Insert your operating system installation media (USB drive or DVD) and configure the boot order in the BIOS to boot from the installation media. Follow the on-screen prompts to install your preferred operating system.

Maintenance

1. Dust Removal

Regularly clean your computer case and motherboard to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating and component failure. Use compressed air to gently remove dust from heatsinks, fans, and other components. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.

2. BIOS Updates

Periodically check the manufacturer's website for BIOS updates. BIOS updates can improve system stability, add support for new hardware, or fix bugs. Follow the specific instructions provided by JGINYUE for updating the BIOS to avoid damaging the motherboard.

3. Component Checks

Occasionally inspect all cables and connections to ensure they are secure. Check for any signs of physical damage or corrosion on components.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your motherboard, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU) are securely connected. Check your power supply unit (PSU) and power outlet.
  • No Display: Verify that your graphics card is properly seated in its PCIe slot and that the monitor cable is securely connected to the graphics card and monitor. If using integrated graphics (not supported by this board), ensure the monitor is connected to the motherboard's video output. Test with a different monitor or cable if possible.
  • System Instability/Crashes: This can be caused by various factors. Check RAM seating, CPU temperature, and ensure all drivers are up to date. Run memory diagnostic tools to check for faulty RAM.
  • POST Code Display: The motherboard features a 2-digit debug LED display (visible in Figure 1). If the system fails to boot, note the code displayed and refer to the motherboard's specific POST code definitions (usually found in a more comprehensive manual or online) to identify the issue.
  • Component Compatibility: Ensure all installed components (CPU, RAM, GPU) are compatible with the JGINYUE X99 TITANIUM D3 motherboard.
