Hello! To facilitate your use of the electric vehicle, please carefully read the instruction manual of the C101 instrument before use. This manual will introduce you to every aspect from hardware assembly to instrument operation in a concise manner. It can also effectively help you solve the difficulties and problems you may encounter during the use process.
This instruction manual applies to the general software version. The software versions of the instruments on some complete vehicles may slightly differ from this manual. Please refer to the actual version in use.
2. Appearance and Dimensions
2.1 Material and Operating Environment
The C101 instrument is made of black ABS+PC material. It can be used normally in an ambient temperature range of -10°C to 60°C and maintain good mechanical properties. The recommended storage temperature is -20°C to 70°C.
2.2 Physical Diagram and Dimensions
The K01 display features a compact design for easy integration onto your e-bike handlebars.

The independent control buttons are designed for flexible installation on either side of the handlebar. The button module dimensions are approximately 3.8 cm (length), 2.2 cm (width), and 1.2 cm (height).

2.3 Installation Instructions
After fixing the instrument on the handlebar, you can adjust the angle of the screen according to your riding habits and then tighten the screws. Ensure that the connectors of the instrument and the controller are connected in a power-off state to complete the installation.
3. Functions and Operations
3.1 Screen Display
The C101 display offers two main modes: SPORT mode and Standard mode, presenting comprehensive riding data. The display content includes:
- Remaining power of battery A (voltage or percentage).
- Remaining power of battery B (voltage or percentage).
- Brake indication.
- Low beam headlight indicator.
- Real-time clock.
- Real-time speed and units (MPH/KM/H).
- Fault code indication.
- Mileage data related to cycling (TRIP, ODO, MAX, AVG, RANGE, CAL).
- Power indication.
- Assist gear level.
- High beam indicator.
- Bluetooth connection status indicator.
- Left and right turn signals.
- Cruise status indication.
- Dual drive motor system status indication.

3.2 Function Overview
The C101 has multiple functions to meet various needs of your riding experience. It can visually present your riding status and riding data during the riding process. Key functions include:
- Battery level display (percentage or voltage).
- Brake indication.
- Headlight indication.
- Speed display.
- Unit display (kilometer and mile).
- Fault display.
- Mileage data display (single-trip mileage/riding time, total mileage/total riding time, maximum speed/average speed, remaining riding mileage/calories).
- Gear display.
- Power indication.
- Left and right turn signal indication.
3.3 Operation Instructions
3.3.1 Power On/Off
Press and hold the [Power] button for 2 seconds to turn on the instrument and activate the controller. To turn off, press and hold the [Power] button for 2 seconds while in the power-on state. When off, the instrument consumes less than 1µA. If the e-bike is not used for more than 5 minutes (default setting), the instrument will automatically turn off.3.3.2 Headlight Control
In the main interface, press and hold the [Plus] button to toggle the headlight on/off. This action also switches between night/day mode and controls the backlight. If the light-sensing headlight function is active and no manual operation occurs after power-on, the headlight will automatically turn on in dark environments and turn off in bright environments.
3.3.3 Gear Selection
From the main interface, short-press the [Plus] or [Minus] button to switch the assist gear and adjust the motor output power.
3.3.4 Mileage Data Display Switch
In the main interface, short-press the [Power] button to cycle through and display different mileage data. The display order is: [TRIP/TIME] → [ODO/TOTAL TIME] → [MAX/AVG] → [RANGE/CAL].
3.3.5 Assist Push Function
There are two ways to enable the assisted pushing operation:
- In the main interface, quickly press the [Minus] key to select a specific assist gear, then long-press the [Minus] key to enter the assisted pushing state. The assist icon will flash.
- Alternatively, in the main interface, long-press the [Minus] key directly to enter the assisted pushing state. The assist icon will flash.
3.3.6 Fault Display
If a fault occurs in the vehicle, the instrument will display a fault code. Users can refer to the error code table (see Section 6.2) to identify and resolve abnormal problems.
4. Parameter Settings
To enter the "Level 1 Settings Menu" from the main interface, double-click the [Power] button. If no operation is performed for more than 30 seconds, it will automatically return to the main interface.
In any "Settings Menu" interface, short-press [Plus] or [Minus] to switch between items. Short-press [Power] to enter the next level menu. To return to the previous level, select "EXIT" and short-press [Power]. In "Level 3 Settings Menu", short-press [Plus] and [Minus] to change options, and short-press [Power] to confirm and exit.
4.1 Display Settings Menu
This menu allows customization of various display parameters:
- Language Setting: Select from English, French, Spanish, German.
- Unit Setting: Choose between metric (km) and imperial (mile) systems.
- Backlight Brightness Setting: Adjust screen brightness from Level 1 (darkest) to Level 5 (brightest).
- Auto-Off Time Setting: Set the automatic shutdown time from 1 to 30 minutes, or select "OFF" to disable.
- USB Charging Setting: Toggle USB charging function "ON" or "OFF". When ON, a connected mobile phone can be charged.
- Real-Time Setting: Adjust the year, month, day, hour, minute, and second for the clock display.
- Interface Theme Style Setting: Choose between "Standard" and "Sport" themes.
- Startup Password Setting: Set a 4-digit password (0000-9999). Factory default is "0000".
- Startup Password Enable Setting: Toggle the startup password function "ON" or "OFF".
- Battery Display Mode Setting: Select battery display mode as "Voltage", "Percent", or "OFF".
4.2 Basic Settings Menu
This menu contains fundamental settings:
- Single-Trip Odometer Reset Setting: Select "YES" to clear current single-trip mileage data (mileage, riding time, max speed, average speed), or "NO" to keep it.
- Assist Gear Setting: Choose different assist gear ranges, such as "0-3 gears", "0-5 gears", or "0-9 gears", to customize assist levels.
- Headlight Light-Sensing Sensitivity: For the auto-on headlight function, select sensitivity levels: "OFF", "Low", "Middle", "High". "High" is the most sensitive.
4.3 Advanced Settings Menu
Access to this menu requires an advanced password. The factory default advanced password is "0512".
- Advanced Password Input: Used to protect important vehicle data from casual modification.
- Factory Reset: Selecting "YES" will restore all parameters to factory settings, except for total mileage (ODO) and total time (TOTAL TIME).
- Wheel Diameter Setting: Adjust the wheel diameter from 1.0 to 30.0 inches to ensure accurate speed and mileage readings.
- Speed Limit Setting: Set the maximum assisted speed from 10 to 99 km/h. The specific range depends on the vehicle system.
- System Voltage Setting: Configure the battery voltage (e.g., 36V, 48V, 52V, 60V, or "Automatic"). "Automatic" means the power source is determined by the controller or battery.
4.4 Information Menu
This menu provides read-only information about the product and battery:
- Product Information: Displays internal product details including System version (e.g., Bafang uart v5.8), Software version (e.g., C101 1.4.1226), Hardware version (e.g., C101.U.C 1.0), and Production Date (e.g., 2025.1.24).
- Battery Information: Shows battery status such as Temperature, Voltage, Current, Remaining Capacity, Full Charge Capacity, Relative Charging State, Absolute Charging State, Cycle Times, and Number of battery cells. Information may vary depending on the battery used.
5. User Precautions
- Pay attention to safety during use.
- Do not plug or unplug the instrument when it is powered on.
- Try to avoid bumping the instrument.
- The film on the instrument is a waterproof film. Do not tear it off to avoid affecting the waterproof performance of the instrument.
- Do not change the background parameters of the instrument casually, otherwise normal riding cannot be guaranteed.
- When the instrument cannot be used normally, send it for repair as soon as possible.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Common Questions
- Q: Why can't it be turned on?
A: Check whether the battery is powered on or whether the exposed lead wire is broken. - Q: What should I do if the instrument displays a fault code?
A: Go to a repair shop for electric vehicles in time for repair.
