4. Setup Instructions

4.1. HA-08 Fan Hub Installation

  1. Mounting the Hub: Secure the HA-08 fan hub to a flat, clean surface inside your PC case using the provided double-sided tape. Ensure the surface is free of dust and grease for optimal adhesion.

  2. Power Connection: Connect the SATA power cable from the HA-08 to an available SATA power connector from your system's Power Supply Unit (PSU). This connection provides stable and reliable power to all connected fans and ARGB devices.

  3. Fan Connections: Connect your 4-pin PWM fans to the 8 PWM ports on the HA-08. Each port supports a 4-pin PWM fan.

  4. ARGB Connections: Connect your 5V 3-pin ARGB fans and ARGB LED strips to the 8 ARGB ports on the HA-08. Ensure the connectors are aligned correctly (5V-D-G).

  5. Motherboard Sync (Optional): For ARGB motherboard synchronization, connect the dedicated ARGB cable from the HA-08 to a compatible 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard. This allows software control of lighting effects.

  6. PWM Signal Connection (Optional): Connect the PWM cable from the HA-08 to a 4-pin PWM fan header on your motherboard. This enables motherboard-controlled fan speed adjustment for all connected PWM fans.

5. Operation

5.1. Fan Speed Control

  • If the HA-08 is connected to a motherboard PWM header, fan speeds can be adjusted via your motherboard's BIOS settings or dedicated fan control software.
  • Important Note: Only the speed of the fan connected to the 'Fan 1' port on the hub can be identified and reported by the system. All other connected 4-pin PWM fans will follow the same PWM signal from the motherboard, but their individual speeds will not be reported.
  • 3-pin fans connected to the PWM ports will run at their maximum RPM as the PWM function is not compatible with them.

5.2. ARGB Lighting Control

  • If the HA-08 is connected to a motherboard's 5V 3-pin ARGB header, lighting effects can be controlled via your motherboard's ARGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync).
  • Ensure all ARGB devices are compatible and correctly daisy-chained for synchronized lighting effects across all connected components.

6. Maintenance

  • Regularly inspect all cable connections to ensure they are secure and free from damage.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Fans Not Spinning or ARGB Not Lighting Up

  • Check Power: Ensure the SATA power cable from the HA-08 is securely connected to a working SATA power connector from your PSU.
  • Check Connections: Verify that all fan and ARGB cables are correctly and firmly connected to the respective ports on the HA-08 hub.
  • Motherboard ARGB: If using motherboard ARGB sync, ensure the 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard is properly connected and enabled in your motherboard's BIOS or software.

7.2. Fan Speed Not Adjustable

  • PWM Fans: Confirm that you are using 4-pin PWM fans. 3-pin fans will always run at full speed when connected to the hub.
  • Motherboard PWM Connection: Ensure the PWM cable from the HA-08 is correctly connected to a 4-pin PWM fan header on your motherboard.
  • System Detection: Remember that only the fan connected to the 'Fan 1' port will have its speed reported to the system. All other PWM fans will follow the same control signal.

7.3. ARGB Lighting Not Syncing or Incorrect Colors

  • ARGB Header: Double-check the connection to your motherboard's 5V 3-pin ARGB header. Ensure it's not accidentally connected to a 12V 4-pin RGB header, which can damage ARGB devices.
  • Daisy-Chain: Verify that all ARGB devices are correctly daisy-chained if applicable, and that the signal flow is correct.
  • Software: Ensure your motherboard's ARGB control software is up-to-date and configured correctly.
