5. Setup

5.1 Unpacking and Inspection

  • Carefully remove the welding machine and all accessories from the packaging.
  • Inspect the machine for any signs of damage during transit. If damage is found, contact your supplier immediately.
  • Verify that all standard accessories (2 quick plugs, 1 Allen wrench) are present.

5.2 Power Connection

The ZX7 series supports single-phase AC220V, single-phase AC380V, and three-phase AC380V input voltages. Ensure the power supply matches the machine's requirements and is properly grounded.

  • Connect the power cable to the appropriate power source.
  • Ensure the circuit breaker on the rear panel is in the OFF position before connecting to power.
  • The machine features an ultra-wide network voltage adaptation range (140V-510V), making it adaptable to various power conditions.

5.3 Welding Cable Connection

  • Connect the electrode holder cable to the positive (+) quick plug terminal on the front panel.
  • Connect the workpiece clamp cable (ground cable) to the negative (-) quick plug terminal on the front panel.
  • Ensure all connections are secure to prevent arcing and overheating.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On

  • After all connections are made, switch the circuit breaker on the rear panel to the ON position.
  • The digital display on the front panel will illuminate, indicating the machine is ready for operation.

6.2 Setting Welding Parameters

  • Use the control knob on the front panel to adjust the welding current (Amperage) according to the electrode diameter and material thickness.
  • The machine features unified adjustment and self-matching welding parameters, simplifying the setup process.
  • Refer to the electrode manufacturer's recommendations for optimal current settings.

6.3 Electrode Selection

The ZX7 series is designed for Manual Metal Arc (MMA) welding. Select an electrode appropriate for your material and application.

  • ZX7-250D can stably weld 3.2 welding rods with a 50-meter welding handle wire extension.
  • ZX7-315D can stably weld 4.0 welding rods with a 50-meter welding handle wire extension.
  • ZX7-400D can stably weld 5.0 welding rods with a 100-meter welding handle wire extension.

6.4 Welding Process

  • Secure the workpiece with the ground clamp.
  • Insert the chosen electrode into the electrode holder.
  • Strike an arc by lightly touching and quickly lifting the electrode from the workpiece.
  • Maintain a consistent arc length and travel speed for a quality weld.
  • The machine's "long line adaptive thrust" ensures consistent thrust current regardless of cable length, improving weld quality.

7. Maintenance
