  2. Format SD Card: To ensure optimal device performance, format the SD card before first use.
  3. Power Off for Accessory Changes: During installation, do not insert the car key into the power supply, and do not insert or remove accessories like the SD card or rear camera while the dash cam is powered on. Perform these actions only when power is turned off.
  4. Automatic Power On: When the car key is plugged into the vehicle, the dash cam will automatically turn on. Verify that the power on/off function and camera display are normal.
  5. SD Card Removal for Downloads: If you need to download recorded videos and images, turn off the camera first before removing the SD card.
  6. SD Card Type: Use a U3 high-speed card (recommended capacity 32GB-256GB). Using a card lower than U3 may cause video stutter, black screen, or recording/playback issues.
  7. App Connection Tip: For some mobile phone models, if the TsCam APP cannot connect to the preview, try turning on airplane mode on your mobile phone.

4. Installation

4.1 Main Body Installation

  1. Bench Test: Start the vehicle generator and perform a bench test. Connect the car charger to the cigarette lighter port and the dash cam, connect the rear camera, and insert the SD card to ensure the dash cam functions normally before official installation.
  2. Mounting Location: Find a suitable spot on your windshield. Wipe the pre-assembled location with a clean wipe. Peel off the electrostatic sticker from the cellophane and transfer it to the desired place. Eliminate any air bubbles. It is recommended to install the back camera after standing still for half an hour to allow the static stickers to strengthen.
  3. DMS Camera Placement: For AI car cameras with DMS (Driver Monitoring System), the main body needs to be mounted on the driver's side of the main cab or right in the middle of the front windshield to ensure the driver's face is recognized when using DMS.

4.2 In-Car Rear Camera Installation

  1. Prepare Surface: Use a clean cloth to wipe the rear windshield where the rear camera will be installed.
  2. Apply Electrostatic Sticker: Peel off the electrostatic sticker from the cellophane and transfer it to the desired place.
  3. Secure Camera: Eliminate air bubbles. It is recommended to install the rear camera after standing still for half an hour to allow the static stickers to strengthen.
  4. Note: The rear camera lens can be rotated 180° in front/back and left/right directions. It is not waterproof, so it is best installed inside the car, preferably on the rear windshield.

4.3 Wiring

Insert the power cord along the gaps between the front windshield and the ceiling, between the car body and the ceiling on the side of the passenger seat, and between the rear seats and the ceiling.

4.4 Hardwire Kit Installation (Optional for Parking Mode)

A hardwire kit is required for the 24-hour parking mode. If parking mode is desired, this kit must be purchased separately.

Hardwire Kit Features:

  • Low Battery Voltage Protection
  • Multi Input Power
  • Universal Compatibility
  • Length: 11.5ft

Wiring Instructions:

WARNING: Incorrect connection may disable Voltage Protection and damage your car.

  • Red wire (ACC): Connects to a power source that is only active when the car key is on.
  • Yellow wire (B+): Connects to a constant power source (always has power).
  • Black wire (Ground): Connects to any grounded (negative) screw.

POP-UP: The fuse box panel is typically located on the driver's side dashboard. You can cut the head of the wires and connect them directly to your fuse if the fuses are small.

Installation Notes:

Note: If you cannot download the 'TsCam' APP due to updates, contact support@hupejos.com for assistance.

6.2 APP Operation

After successful WiFi connection, open the app and click "connect". The app will automatically connect to the camera and display real-time recording.

  • Live View: Watch your dashcam's live video feed (within 10 feet).
  • Video Playback: Watch recorded videos stored on your dashcam on your smartphone. (Note: Video and picture pixels in TsCam APP are compressed. For clearer information, download the picture/video or use the SD card on a computer.)
  • Video Download: Select and download videos or pictures from the SD card browsing interface or playback area.

WiFi Range: The WiFi range of V8Pro is 6-7 meters from the dash cam. It is not a cloud dash cam, so remote viewing beyond this range is not possible.

7. WiFi Connection

When WiFi is turned on, the display screen will show the ID and password.

Connection Steps:

  1. Ensure the WiFi function on the dash cam is ON.
  2. Open your phone's WiFi settings list.
  3. Select the WiFi name (SSID: HUPEJOS-V8Pro-***).
  4. Enter the password (PWD: 12345678) to connect.
  5. Open the TsCam APP and click the "Connect" button to use.

Troubleshooting WiFi Connection:

  • Before connecting, ensure your smartphone's WiFi is enabled.

  • If you forget the WiFi password, you can restore the device to default settings, which will also reset the WiFi password to 12345678.

8. APP GPS Video Playback

To view GPS tracks in real-time preview on the APP:

  1. The mobile phone needs to have mobile data traffic enabled.
  2. Apple iPhones use the phone's built-in map to access GPS tracks. If the map is uninstalled, it needs to be reinstalled.
  3. Android phones need to cache offline maps. You can do this by opening TsCam, clicking About, and selecting offline map to cache.

After entering the App's real-time preview, you can perform the following operations:

  • Video Preview: After connecting to the camera, enter the real-time preview page. Click the full-screen icon or place the phone horizontally for full-screen mode. Use the window switch icon to switch between front, rear, and cabin video windows (for multi-channel dash cams).
  • Video Playback: View video and photo files recorded on the SD card directly in the app.
  • Video Download: Select and download videos or pictures from the SD card browsing interface or video playback area. Downloaded videos can be played from the local file section of the app interface.

9. PC GPS Video Playback

9.1 GPS Function

  • The video interface indicates GPS status: a flashing icon means GPS is not positioned, a solid icon means GPS positioning is successful.
  • The system time will synchronize after successful GPS positioning (according to the time zone set in the menu).

11. Maintenance

  • Do not directly plug and unplug the cable or SD card unless the camera is turned off.
  • While we do not encourage connecting your camera with other hardwire kits, if you do, ensure they are lower than 6V and higher than 2.5A.
  • It is normal for the camera to be warm during operation. Excessive exposure to heat from the sun may cause damage not covered under the 1-year warranty.

12. Troubleshooting

12.1 WiFi Connection Issues

  • Connection Preparation: Ensure mobile data/VPN is off. Be within 16ft of the V8Pro. Only one device connection is allowed.
  • Connection Notice: The default WiFi password is 12345678.

12.2 Won't Enter Parking Mode

  • A hardwire kit is needed for parking mode.
  • If the screen prompts "ACC disconnected", check the hardwire kit connection.
  • If the blue light is on and the red light flashes, it indicates a parking mode issue.

12.3 Camera Always On After Car Turned Off

  • This usually indicates incorrect wiring of the Red and Yellow wires in the hardwire kit.
  • Ensure the Red wire is connected to the ignition fuse.

12.4 Overheating

  • The camera should operate within -22°F to 140°F (-30°C to +60°C).

12.5 Received Dead Camera

  • Use a USB cable to connect your camera to a computer and check if the screen turns on.

12.6 Ultimate Solutions for Various Issues

  • If the camera doesn't power on, unplug the SD card, use a pin to press the Reset button at the bottom of the camera, then reconnect.
  • Ensure you are using the original car charger. If not, replace it.
  • Remove the rear camera, SD card, and then reinsert them into the dash cam in sequence to check for short-circuit issues.
  • Verify your SD card is U3 Class10. If not, replace it.
  • If issues persist, use your personal USB charger. Check if the car charger is short-circuited.
  • Download the latest firmware to upgrade your dash cam.
  • If the above methods do not resolve your problem, contact HUPEJOS support.

13. User Tips & FAQ

13.1 SD Card Management

  • The dash cam supports standard SD cards up to 256GB.
  • Always use Class 10, U3 (UHS-1) speed or above (SAMSUNG or LEXAR High Endurance recommended).
  • Format new SD cards on the Dash Cam before use.
  • The dash cam will prompt for formatting on the 1st and 15th of every month; this is a reminder and not mandatory if the card is working correctly.
  • Memory cards can deteriorate after repeated overwriting cycles; this may affect file saving.

13.2 WiFi Connection & App Usage

  • If WiFi connection is interrupted, turn off your phone's cellular network or switch to Airplane Mode and reconnect.
  • If the app is not running or cannot connect, ensure you have the latest version of 'TsCam', 'WEcam', or 'Roadcam' installed.
  • The WiFi range is 6-7 meters. This is not a cloud dash cam, so remote viewing beyond this range is not possible.
  • To change the WiFi password: Connect to the dash cam's WiFi, open the TsCam app, go to "Recorder settings" > "Device settings" > "DVR WiFi password", and enter the new password.

13.3 Parking Mode & Hardwire Kit

  • 24-hour parking mode requires a separate hardwire kit or radar hardwire kit.
  • If parking mode doesn't activate or the camera records all night, check the hardwire kit wiring. Incorrect wiring (especially red and yellow lines) or a disconnected red line can cause issues. Refer to the hardwire kit installation video for guidance.
  • Ensure the installed radar (if applicable) is perpendicular to the ground for accurate sensitivity measurements.

13.4 Display & Recording

  • If the camera screen flickers, it might be due to infrared light from the front or rear camera of the phone aimed at the in-car lens. This is normal.
  • When the rear camera is not connected, the front resolution automatically switches to 4K. When the rear camera is connected, the front resolution will be 2K or 3K.
  • WiFi is turned off by default. To use it, long press the OK button or enable it in settings.
