3. Product Overview

The M-VAVE SP100 is a compact and lightweight amplifier with intuitive controls and advanced features. It includes a custom full-range speaker with a bass reflex port design for optimal sound quality.

3.1. Controls and Ports

  • Input: 1/4" mono jack for connecting your instrument.
  • Full-Rig: Knob to adjust the overall rig volume or gain.
  • Gain: Knob to control the input gain.
  • Tone: Knob to adjust the tonal characteristics.
  • Mod: Knob to control modulation effects.
  • Space: Knob to control spatial effects (e.g., reverb, delay).
  • Master: Knob to adjust the overall output volume.
  • Power Button: Press and hold to turn the unit on/off.

4. Setup

4.1. Charging the Battery

The SP100 features a built-in 7.4V/2600mAh rechargeable battery, providing up to 8 hours of continuous operation on a full charge. To charge the unit:

  1. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the USB port on the SP100.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a 5.0V 2.0A charger (not included).
  3. Charging from depleted to full takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours.

4.2. Initial Connection

  1. Ensure the SP100 is fully charged or connected to a power source.
  2. Press and hold the Power button to turn on the amplifier.
  3. Connect your electric guitar or bass to the 1/4" INPUT jack.
  4. Adjust the GAIN, TONE, MOD, SPACE, and MASTER knobs to your desired settings.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic Playback

Once your instrument is connected and the amplifier is powered on, you can begin playing. Adjust the various knobs (GAIN, TONE, MOD, SPACE, MASTER) to shape your sound. The FULL-RIG knob controls the overall output of the selected rig.

5.2. Bluetooth Connection

The SP100 supports wireless Bluetooth connection for playing along with backing tracks or external audio.

  1. Press the BT button on the SP100 to activate Bluetooth pairing mode. The BT indicator light will blink.
  2. On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), go to Bluetooth settings and search for "M-VAVE SP100".
  3. Select "M-VAVE SP100" to pair. The BT indicator light will turn solid blue once connected.
  4. You can now play audio from your device through the SP100.

5.3. Mobile APP Control

The SP100 can be controlled via a mobile application, allowing you to import massive AMP and IR files, and access 9 sets of presets and 6 modulation effects.

  1. Ensure your SP100 is connected via Bluetooth to your mobile device.
  2. Download and install the official M-VAVE application from your device's app store.
  3. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your SP100.
  4. Within the app, you can customize tones, effects, and manage presets.

5.4. USB Computer Recording

The SP100 can function as a computer speaker and an external sound card, allowing for direct recording of your instrument.

  1. Connect the SP100 to your computer using the supplied USB-C cable.
  2. Your computer should recognize the SP100 as an audio input/output device.
  3. Open your preferred Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or recording software.
  4. Select the SP100 as your audio input device to record your instrument directly.

5.5. OTG Internal Recording

For outdoor or mobile recording, the SP100 supports OTG internal recording with a separate OTG adapter (not included).

  1. Connect your instrument to the SP100's INPUT jack.
  2. Connect your mobile device to the SP100's USB port using an OTG adapter and the USB-C cable.
  3. Connect headphones to your mobile device or the SP100's output (if available and compatible).
  4. Use a recording app on your mobile device to capture your performance.

5.6. External Pedal Support

The SP100 is compatible with external pedals (e.g., Chocolate/Plus pedals) for wired or wireless control, allowing for easy toggle switching of effects and presets.

Refer to your external pedal's manual for specific connection and operation instructions.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your M-VAVE SP100, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the amplifier. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes.
  • Storage: Store the amplifier in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
  • Battery Care:
    • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
    • Charge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its health.
    • If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and recharge every few months.
  • Handling: Handle the amplifier with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the amplifier has adequate ventilation during use to prevent overheating.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your M-VAVE SP100, please refer to the following troubleshooting tips:

  • Move away from other wireless devices.
Unit not charging

  • Charger not providing sufficient power (needs 5V 2A).
  • Check USB-C cable and connections. Try a different cable.
  • Use a charger that meets the 5V 2A specification.
