1. Introduction

The GMKtec M7 Gaming Mini PC is a compact and powerful desktop computer designed for gaming, office, and home use. Featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 6850H processor and AMD Radeon 680M graphics, it delivers robust performance in a small form factor. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your M7 Mini PC.

2. What's in the Box

Upon unpacking your GMKtec M7 Mini PC, please ensure all the following items are present:

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Connections

  1. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC IN port on the Mini PC and then into a power outlet.
  2. Connect Display: Use an HDMI or DisplayPort cable to connect your monitor(s) to the corresponding ports on the Mini PC. The M7 supports up to four screens simultaneously using HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.0, and two Type-C (USB 4.0) ports.
  3. Connect Peripherals: Plug in your USB keyboard, mouse, and any other desired peripherals into the available USB ports (USB3.2 Gen2, USB2.0, Type-C).
  4. Network Connection: For a wired connection, connect an Ethernet cable to one of the two 2.5G Giga LAN (RJ45) ports. For wireless, ensure your Wi-Fi network is available; the device supports WIFI6 AX200.

4.2 RAM and SSD Installation (for Barebones Configuration)

If you purchased the "No RAM, no storage" option, you will need to install RAM and SSDs. For other configurations, Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and activated.

  1. Open the Mini PC: Gently rotate the transparent top cover of the Mini PC from left to right. Once rotated, carefully lift and remove the cover.
  2. Access Internal Components: Locate the screws inside the chassis. Remove these screws to access the internal components, including the RAM and SSD slots.
  3. Install RAM: The M7 Mini PC has two SO-DIMM slots for DDR5 4800MHz RAM, supporting up to a maximum of 64GB (32GB x 2). Insert the RAM modules into the slots, ensuring they are seated correctly until the clips snap into place.
  4. Install SSD: The Mini PC features two M.2 2280 slots for PCIe 3.0 SSDs, supporting up to a maximum of 16TB (8TB x 2). Insert the M.2 SSDs into the slots and secure them with the provided screws.
  5. Close the Mini PC: Once RAM and SSDs are installed, reattach the internal screws, replace the top cover, and rotate it back into its locked position.

4.3 Operating System Installation (for Barebones Configuration)

For barebones systems, you will need to install an operating system (e.g., Windows, Linux) and the necessary drivers. Please contact customer service for the driver download address if required.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press the power button located on the front of the Mini PC.
  • Power Off: To shut down the system, use the operating system's shutdown function. Alternatively, press and hold the power button for a few seconds for a forced shutdown (not recommended for regular use).

5.2 Display Configuration

The M7 Mini PC supports a four-screen display setup. Connect your monitors to the available HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.0, and two Type-C (USB 4.0) ports. You can configure display settings within your operating system.

5.3 Performance Modes

The Mini PC offers various performance modes to optimize power consumption and cooling based on your usage:

The VRAM memory allocation can be adjusted up to 16GB through BIOS settings for enhanced graphics performance.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To ensure optimal performance and longevity, keep the Mini PC clean. Regularly dust the exterior and ensure that the air vents are free from obstructions. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid using liquid cleaners directly on the device.

6.2 Component Upgrades

The GMKtec M7 Mini PC is designed for easy upgrades of RAM and SSDs. Refer to Section 4.2 for detailed instructions on how to open the device and install components. Ensure you use compatible DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM and M.2 2280 SSDs.

6.3 Cooling System

The Mini PC features an upgraded twin cooling fan system with a Hyper Ice Chamber 2.0 design, including larger top and bottom cooling fans with a copper base for efficient heat dissipation. Proper airflow is crucial; avoid placing the device in enclosed spaces that restrict ventilation.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet. Try a different outlet if necessary.
  • No Display: Check that the HDMI or DisplayPort cable is firmly connected to both the Mini PC and the monitor. Ensure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct input source.
  • Operating System Issues (Barebones): If you installed your own OS and encounter issues, verify that the OS installation was successful and all necessary drivers are installed. Contact customer service for driver assistance.
  • Overheating: Ensure the Mini PC's vents are not blocked and that it is placed in a well-ventilated area. If using performance modes, consider switching to a lower TDP mode if not performing intensive tasks.
  • Peripheral Not Detected: Try connecting the peripheral to a different USB port. Ensure the peripheral's drivers are installed if required.

8. User Tips

  • Easy Access for Upgrades: To access the internal components for RAM or SSD upgrades, simply rotate the transparent top cover from left to right, then remove the internal screws. This disassembled design makes upgrades easy and convenient.
  • Driver Installation: If you purchased the barebones (no RAM, no storage) option and installed your own operating system, remember to contact customer service to obtain the correct driver download address for your device.

9. Warranty and Support

The GMKtec M7 Mini PC comes with a 12-month manufacturer's warranty for defective items. This warranty does not cover damage caused by buyer misuse or accidental damage. Accessories included with the Mini PC are covered by a 6-month warranty.
