3.2.2 Voice Activated Recording (VOR)

The V06 features Voice Activated Recording, which automatically starts recording when sound is detected and pauses when there is silence. This saves storage space and playback time.

  • Navigate to the recording settings to enable VOR.
  • Adjust the 7 levels of voice-activated sensitivity to suit your environment. Higher sensitivity will detect quieter sounds.

Important Note: For critical recordings where no sound should be missed, it is recommended NOT to use the Voice-Activated Recording (VOR) feature, as very low sounds might not trigger recording.

4.1 Cleaning the Device

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the recorder. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the device.

4.2 Battery Care

  • Charge the device regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) as this can degrade battery performance.
  • Do not attempt to replace the internal battery yourself. Contact customer support if battery issues arise.

4.3 Storage

Store the recorder in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. When not in use for extended periods, ensure the device is powered off.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your MECHEN V06 recorder, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Device won't turn on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again. Check the Power On/Off switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • Cannot record: Check if there is sufficient storage space on the device or TF card. Ensure the device is not in 'Lock' mode.
  • Poor audio quality: Check recording settings (bitrate, gain). Ensure microphones are not obstructed. Adjust noise reduction levels according to the environment.
  • Device unresponsive: Try performing a soft reset by holding down the power button for an extended period (e.g., 10-15 seconds) or by letting the battery fully discharge and then recharging.
  • Files not appearing on computer: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected. Try a different USB port or cable. The device should appear as a removable disk.
