4. Installation

4.1. Preparing for Installation

  • Ensure your vehicle's engine is off.
  • Clean the windshield area where the dashcam will be mounted.
  • Insert a Class 10 or higher Micro SD/TF card (up to 256GB) into the TF Card Slot.
  • If your model supports a SIM card, insert the compatible 4G LTE SIM card into the SIM card slot. Refer to the SIM card country table for frequency band compatibility.

4.2. Mounting the Front Camera

  1. Apply the electrostatic sticker to the windshield, typically behind the rearview mirror to avoid obstructing your view.
  2. Attach the front dashcam to the electrostatic sticker. The design allows for discreet mounting, ensuring a 'zero vision block'.

4.3. Mounting the Rear Camera

The rear camera offers two mounting options:

  • Inside Cabin: Mount the rear camera on the inside of the rear window.
  • Exterior: For RVs or pickup trucks, the 1080P waterproof rear camera can be mounted externally to overcome tinted windows or obstructions.
  1. Choose your preferred mounting location for the rear camera.
  2. Securely attach the rear camera.
  3. Connect the rear camera to the main dashcam unit using the provided 6-meter rearview camera cable.

4.4. Power Connection

Connect the 24-hour parking cable (OBD Power Cable) to your vehicle's power source and to the Type-C input on the dashcam. This cable enables continuous power for parking monitoring features.

5. Operation

5.1. Powering On/Off

The dashcam will automatically power on when your vehicle starts and power off when the engine is turned off, provided it is connected via the 24-hour parking cable. You can manually power on/off using the 'Start key' if needed.

5.2. 4G LTE Remote Connection (for SIM-enabled models)

For models with 4G LTE capability, once a compatible SIM card is inserted and activated, you can enjoy 24/7 remote live access via the mobile application. This allows you to:

  • View real-time HD footage from both front and rear cameras.
  • Check the precise location of your vehicle on a map.
  • Conduct remote monitoring from anywhere.

5.3. Dual-Channel Recording

The dashcam records simultaneously from both the front (2K Super HD) and rear (1080P HD) cameras, providing comprehensive coverage and eliminating blind spots.

5.4. Advanced Monitoring Features

  • Pedestrian Detection: Monitors both the front and rear of your vehicle, alerting you to pedestrians for enhanced safety. Microwave radar works when the car is parked.
  • G-Sensor Protection: The built-in G-sensor automatically locks and protects footage upon detecting a collision or sudden impact, ensuring critical evidence is preserved.
  • Secure Cloud Storage: In the event of an incident, photos and videos are automatically uploaded to the cloud, safeguarding important data from TF card failure or damage.
  • 'Find My Car' Function: Use the mobile app to instantly locate your vehicle on a map and get directions, useful in large parking lots or crowded streets.

5.5. Four Monitoring Modes

The dashcam offers various monitoring modes to suit different needs:

  • Pedestrian Detection: Operates when the vehicle is on, featuring high-quality 30FPS video. Detection sensitivity is configurable.
  • Collision Detection: Front and rear cameras auto-capture collisions/impacts, securing evidence for fraud claims.
  • Low Bitrate Mode: HD@30fps extends parking surveillance storage. Ideal for parking on busy streets.
  • Low Framerate Mode: Low-framerate parking videos (1/5/10/15fps, no audio) save storage space using image sequences.

6. Using the HotKam App

The Acceo Dashcam is compatible with the 'HotKam' application. Download the app from your smartphone's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store).

  • Connect your smartphone to the dashcam via Wi-Fi (if available) or through the 4G LTE connection (for SIM-enabled models).
  • The app allows you to view live footage, playback recorded videos, adjust settings, manage cloud storage, and utilize features like 'Find My Car'.

7. Maintenance

7.1. General Care

  • Keep the dashcam lenses clean using a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the lens.
  • Ensure the dashcam is securely mounted to prevent vibrations or dislodgement during driving.
  • The supercapacitor design provides reliable operation in extreme temperatures (-10°C to 70°C), but avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures outside this range when possible.
Graphic illustrating supercapacitor benefits: Longer Lifespan, No Explosion Risk, All-Weather Resistant, Eco Engineered. Shows cars in desert heat (70°C) and snowy cold (-10°C).

7.2. Memory Card Management

  • Regularly format your Micro SD/TF card (at least once a month) to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption.
  • Ensure you use a high-quality Class 10 or higher memory card.
  • The dashcam supports loop-cycle recording, automatically overwriting the oldest footage when the card is full, except for locked emergency videos.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause / Solution
Dashcam does not power on.Ensure the standard charging cable is used and properly connected to a functioning power source. Check vehicle's power outlet.
SIM card not detected or 4G LTE not working.Verify the SIM card is correctly inserted. Check if your SIM card supports the required frequency bands for your region (Europe/Africa/Oceania/South/South America/Asia: FDD B1/B3/B5/B8; America: FDD B34/B38/B39/B40/B41). Ensure the SIM card has an active data plan.
App connectivity issues.Ensure your phone's Wi-Fi or mobile data is on. Restart the app and the dashcam. Check for app updates.
Poor video quality.Clean the camera lenses. Ensure the protective film is removed. Check dashcam settings for resolution. Ensure sufficient lighting for night vision.
Memory card error.Format the memory card. Replace with a new Class 10 or higher card if the issue persists. Ensure the card is not full (unless loop recording is active).
G-Sensor not triggering.Adjust the G-Sensor sensitivity in the app settings.

8.1. SIM Card Compatibility

It is crucial to ensure your SIM card supports the correct frequency bands for your region. Please refer to the table below:

Table showing SIM card compatibility by region: EU (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, etc.) and America (FDD B34/B38/B39/B40/B41).

9. User Tips

  • App Subscription: While the basic functions of the 'HotKam' app are generally free, advanced features such as continuous 24-hour cloud monitoring or extended cloud storage may require a separate subscription or data plan from your SIM card provider. Check the app's terms of service for details.
  • SIM Card Data Plan: For 4G LTE features like live view and cloud uploads, ensure your SIM card has an adequate data plan to avoid unexpected charges or service interruptions.
  • Parking Monitoring: The 24-hour parking cable is essential for enabling continuous parking surveillance features. Ensure it is correctly installed for full functionality.
