1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the TODIMART YF013 Electric Scooter. This manual provides essential information for the safe operation, maintenance, and care of your scooter. Please read it thoroughly before your first ride and keep it for future reference.

2. Product Overview

The TODIMART YF013 is an adult electric scooter designed for urban exploration and daily commuting. It features a powerful 500W brushless motor, a removable 48V 7.8Ah lithium-ion battery, dual disc brakes, and a dual shock absorption system for a comfortable and safe ride. Its foldable design ensures portability and easy storage.

3. Setup and Assembly

Your TODIMART YF013 electric scooter comes partially assembled. Follow these steps for initial setup:

  1. Unfolding the Scooter:

    The scooter features a simple folding mechanism. Carefully unfold the stem until it locks into place. Ensure all locking mechanisms are securely engaged before use.

  2. Handlebar Assembly:

    Attach the handlebars to the stem, ensuring they are aligned and tightened securely. Check for any loose connections.

  3. Battery Installation/Charging:

    The scooter is equipped with a removable 48V 7.8Ah lithium-ion battery. For initial use, fully charge the battery. The battery can be charged while installed in the scooter or separately after removal. Charging time is approximately 3-4 hours.

  4. Optional Seat Installation:

    If you wish to use the removable folding seat, follow the instructions provided with the seat for proper installation. No professional tools are required, and it can be easily disassembled for storage.

  5. Pre-Ride Check:

    Before each ride, ensure tires are properly inflated, brakes are functioning, and all quick-release levers and folding mechanisms are secure.

4. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the scooter's controls before riding.

4.1. Power On/Off and Display

Press and hold the power button on the handlebar to turn the scooter on or off. The large LCD display will show key information:

  • Speed: Current riding speed (km/h or mph).
  • TRIP/ODO: Trip distance or total odometer.
  • Battery Status: Remaining battery level.
  • Error Code: Displays diagnostic codes if an issue occurs.
  • Safety Light Indicator: Shows status of lights.
  • Km/Mile Switch: Option to change units.

4.2. Speed Modes

The scooter offers 3 speed modes to adapt to different riding conditions and preferences. Use the mode selection button on the handlebar to switch between them.

4.3. Braking System

The YF013 is equipped with a dual disc brake system (front and rear) for sensitive and stable braking. Always apply brakes gently and evenly. In emergencies, the system allows for quick speed control.

4.4. Lighting System

The scooter features an automatic lighting system including headlights, taillights, and turn signals for enhanced visibility and safety, especially during low-light conditions.

4.5. Folding and Storage

The scooter's foldable design allows for easy transport and storage. The folding process is simple and can be completed in a few steps. Once folded, its dimensions are approximately 117 x 24.5 x 61 cm, making it compact for carrying in a car trunk or storing in small spaces.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your scooter.

5.1. Battery Care

  • Always use the original charger provided.
  • Do not overcharge or completely drain the battery.
  • Store the battery in a cool, dry place within the recommended temperature range (-10°C to 60°C).
  • If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to about 50-70% every 1-2 months.

5.2. Tire Maintenance

The 10-inch all-terrain tubeless tires are wear-resistant and puncture-resistant. Regularly check tire pressure and inspect for any signs of wear or damage. Maintain proper tire pressure for optimal performance and safety.

5.3. Brake System

Periodically check the responsiveness of the dual disc brakes. If you notice any decrease in braking performance or unusual noises, have the brakes inspected and adjusted by a qualified technician.

5.4. General Cleaning and Inspection

  • Clean the scooter with a damp cloth. Do not use high-pressure water or immerse any electrical components.
  • Regularly check all screws and bolts for tightness.
  • Inspect the frame, folding mechanism, and suspension components for any signs of damage or wear. The hydraulic shock absorption system is designed for durability and typically requires no oil changes for three years.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your scooter, refer to the display for error codes or consult this basic troubleshooting guide:

  • Scooter not turning on: Check battery charge level. Ensure battery is properly installed.
  • Reduced range/power: Battery may need full charge or could be degrading over time. Check tire pressure.
  • Brakes not responsive: Inspect brake levers and calipers. Seek professional adjustment if necessary.
  • Unusual noises: Stop riding immediately and inspect for loose parts, rubbing components, or damaged bearings.
