Figure 4: Multiple Riding Modes
  • Pedal Mode (Standard Bicycle): Ride the bike like a traditional bicycle without any electric assistance. Use the Shimano 7-speed gears to adjust resistance.
  • Pedal Assist System (PAS) Mode: The motor provides assistance as you pedal. You can select 1-3 levels of pedal assist to match your desired effort.
  • Pure Electric Mode (Throttle): Use the throttle to engage the motor and propel the bike without pedaling. This mode offers variable power depending on how much you twist the throttle.
  • Walk Assist Mode: Provides a low-speed boost (6-10 km/h) to help you push the bike uphill or when walking alongside it.

The LCD display allows you to monitor your speed, distance, battery level, and current assist mode. Use the control panel near the handlebar to switch between modes and adjust assist levels.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your e-bike.

  • Tires: Check tire pressure before each ride. Maintain recommended PSI for optimal performance and safety. Inspect for wear and tear.
  • Brakes: Regularly check brake levers for proper tension and ensure brake pads are not excessively worn. Adjust or replace as needed.
  • Chain: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to prevent rust and ensure smooth gear changes.
  • Battery: Store the battery in a cool, dry place. If storing for extended periods, charge it to 50-70% every 1-2 months.
  • Frame & Components: Periodically inspect the frame, handlebars, seat post, and other components for any signs of damage, cracks, or loose connections. Tighten bolts and screws as necessary.
  • Cleaning: Clean your e-bike with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on electrical components.

8. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

  • E-bike not turning on: Check if the battery is properly seated and charged. Ensure the power button on the battery and display are pressed.
  • Motor not assisting: Verify that the PAS level is set above zero. Check if the brake levers are fully released, as some e-bikes have a safety cut-off. Ensure the battery has sufficient charge.
  • Short battery range: This could be due to low tire pressure, riding uphill frequently, carrying heavy loads, or riding in cold weather. Ensure the battery is fully charged before each ride.
  • Brakes feel weak: Inspect brake pads for wear. Adjust brake cable tension. If issues persist, consult a professional bike mechanic.
  • Unusual noises: Check for loose components, rubbing parts (e.g., fenders against tires), or issues with the chain or motor.

For more complex issues, please contact customer support or a certified e-bike technician.
