5. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your energy storage system. Ensure all connections are secure and follow the wiring diagrams carefully.
5.1 Three-phase Output Connection
The system provides a three-phase AC output. Refer to the diagram below for correct wiring of L1, L2, L3, and N lines to achieve 220V and 380V outputs.

This diagram illustrates the AC output connections for L1, L2, L3, and N, showing 220V and 380V lines. It also includes a table listing applicable models (AO-MB51600, AO-MB51400, AO-MB51300) and an output voltage range of 200-240Vac (L-N). Users can change the output phase mode and voltage via the setup menu, specifically item [38] in chapter 6.1.2 Setting, with the output phase voltage adjustable between 200V and 240V.
5.2 Communication Interface
The system features various communication ports for monitoring and control. Connect your devices as shown in the diagram below.

This diagram details the Inverter Communication Interface (RS485-1 port, USB-B port, CAN/RS485-2 port, Parallel connection port, Dry contact port) and the Battery Communication Interface (LED Indicator, RST, ADS, DCT, RS485/CAN for inverter connection, RS232 for computer connection, RS485/RS485 for parallel connection).
6. Operation
The Tewaycell ESS offers intelligent energy management through time-slot utility charging/discharging functions and APP control.
6.1 Time-slot Utility Charging/Discharging Function
Before using this function, set the local time in parameter items 54 and 55. You can then configure time slots according to local peak and valley electricity tariff charges.

This image displays a Peak-Valley Electricity Tariff chart and two main functions: 'Time-slot Utility Charging/Carrying Function' and 'Time-slot Battery Discharging Function'. Both allow for 3 definable periods within 00:00-23:59. For charging, PV energy is prioritized, with utility energy as a supplement. For discharging, the inverter prioritizes the load, switching to mains power if battery power is insufficient.
- Time-slot Utility Charging/Carrying Function: With three definable periods (00:00-23:59), the system will use PV energy first, and if PV energy is unavailable or insufficient, utility energy will be used as a supplement.
- Time-slot Battery Discharging Function: With three definable periods (00:00-23:59), the inverter will give priority to the battery inverter to carry the load. If battery power is insufficient, the inverter automatically switches to mains power to ensure stable operation.
6.2 APP Control
The system supports PACE EX App control, allowing you to monitor and manage your energy storage system remotely. Refer to the App's user guide for detailed instructions on setup and usage.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Tewaycell ESS.
- Cleaning: Keep the unit clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Ventilation: Ensure proper airflow around the unit to prevent overheating. Keep ventilation openings clear.
- Connection Checks: Periodically inspect all electrical connections for tightness and signs of corrosion.
- Software Updates: Keep the system firmware and mobile application updated to the latest versions for improved features and stability.
- Battery Health: While LiFePO4 batteries are low maintenance, monitor battery health indicators via the display or APP.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your system, refer to the following general troubleshooting steps. For complex problems, contact customer support.
- System Not Powering On: Check all power connections, circuit breakers, and ensure the battery is charged.
- No AC Output: Verify the inverter is enabled, check for overload conditions, and ensure the grid connection is stable if operating in hybrid mode.
- Charging Issues: Check PV panel connections, ensure sufficient sunlight, and verify AC input if charging from the grid.
- Communication Errors: Ensure communication cables are correctly connected and the APP is properly configured.
- Unusual Noises or Smells: Immediately power down the system and contact technical support.
9. User Tips
