1. Product Overview

The MECHEN H1 Pro is an advanced digital player running on Android 9.0, offering a versatile multimedia experience. It features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 4.0-inch full touch screen, and supports a wide range of audio and video formats. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your device.

2. Setup

2.1 Package Contents

Ensure all items are present in the box:

• 1 x MECHEN H1 Pro Digital Player
• 1 x USB-C Cable
• 1 x Earphones
• 1 x User Manual (this document)
• 1 x Transparent Case

2.2 Device Layout and Buttons

2.3 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the device. Use a 5V-1A or 5V-2A ordinary charging head or a computer USB port. Do NOT use fast chargers exceeding 30W, as the MP3 player does not support fast charging and this can damage the device.

2.4 Power On/Off

• To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the screen lights up.
• To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button, then select 'Power Off' on the screen.
• To Turn Screen On/Off: Short press the Power button.

2.5 Inserting a MicroSD Card

The device supports MicroSD cards up to 512GB. Ensure the card is formatted to FAT32 for optimal compatibility. Insert the card into the TF card slot until it clicks into place.

2.6 Connecting to a PC

Use the provided USB-C cable to connect the player to your computer. A 'P' icon will appear on the player's screen, and 'MECHEN H1-Pro' will be listed as an MTP device in your computer's drive list. This allows you to transfer files.

2.7 Wi-Fi Connection

To connect to Wi-Fi:

1. Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, then tap on the Wi-Fi icon, or navigate to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi.
2. Turn on Wi-Fi. The device will automatically search for available networks.
3. Tap on the desired Wi-Fi network. If it's an encrypted network, enter the password.

2.8 Bluetooth Pairing

To pair with a Bluetooth device:

1. Navigate to Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth.
2. Turn on Bluetooth. The device will automatically search for available devices.
3. Select your Bluetooth device from the list and follow the on-screen prompts to complete pairing.

2.9 Language and Input Settings

To set your preferred language and input method:

1. Go to Settings > System > Languages & input.
2. Select 'Languages' to add or change the device language.
3. Under 'Keyboard & input methods', select Gboard to configure your preferred keyboard settings.

2.10 Date & Time Settings

To adjust the date and time:

1. Go to Settings > System > Date & time.
2. You can set the date, time, time zone, and choose between 12-hour or 24-hour format.

2.11 Screen Lock

To set a screen lock for security:

1. Go to Settings > Security > Screen lock.
2. Choose from Swipe, Pattern, PIN, or Password.
3. Important: If you set a PIN or Password, write it down. If forgotten, you will not be able to access the device without the universal password.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Navigation

• Touch Screen: Navigate the device by tapping, swiping, and pinching on the 4.0-inch touch screen.
• Home Button: Press once to go back to the previous menu, press twice to return to the main home screen, and long press to view and manage background applications.
• Volume Buttons: Use the Volume + and Volume - buttons on the side to adjust audio levels.

3.2 Music Playback

The MECHEN H1 Pro supports various music formats and comes with pre-installed music applications like Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, Apple Music, and HiByMusic. You can also download more from the Google Play Store.

• Using Pre-installed Apps: Tap on the icon of your preferred streaming service (e.g., Spotify) and log in to access your music library.
• Local Music Playback: Transfer your music files to the device's internal storage or MicroSD card. Use the 'Music' app or HiByMusic to scan for and play your local files.
• Supported Audio Formats: MP3, OGG, FLAC, AAC, WAV, WMA, APE, M4A, DTS.

3.3 Video Playback

The player supports 720p and 1080p full format HD video playback without the need for conversion.

• Supported Video Formats: RM, RMVB, FLV, MP4, DAT, MKV, MPG, MOV, TS.
• Transfer video files to your device and access them through the 'Video' application.

3.4 App Usage and Google Play Store

The MECHEN H1 Pro runs on Android 9.0, allowing you to download, install, and update applications from the Google Play Store.

• Tap on the 'Play Store' icon to browse and download new apps.
• Reminder: Installing too many apps can cause slowdowns or lagging. Ensure you leave sufficient running space for the system.

3.5 Other Functions

• E-Book Reading: The device supports Ebook reading (TXT format). Transfer your e-books and open them with the pre-installed e-book reader.
• FM Radio: Tune into your favorite radio stations using the built-in FM radio function.
• Voice Recorder: Use the integrated voice recorder to capture audio.
• Screenshot: Press and hold the 'Power button' and 'Volume -' button simultaneously to take a screenshot.
• Parental Controls: Parents can install or remove applications and set controls such as passwords, browser access, timers, and application access by downloading and installing Family Link and enabling Parental Controls in the player settings.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Care

• Always use a 5V/1A-2A adapter or computer USB for charging. Avoid fast chargers (>30W) to protect battery life and prevent damage to the charging IC.
• The device features intelligent power saving, battery saver, and battery manager functions. Monitor battery percentage in Settings > Battery.

4.2 Storage Management

Regularly check available storage space in Settings > Storage. Delete unnecessary files or applications to maintain optimal performance. Ensure your MicroSD card has sufficient free space.

4.3 System Reset and Factory Settings

If the device experiences persistent issues, you may need to reset it or restore factory settings.

• Soft Reset: If the device crashes or freezes, use a pin to press the 'Reset' button (small pinhole) on the side.
• Factory Reset: Before performing a factory reset, back up all your files, as they will be erased. Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).

4.4 Environmental Warnings

• Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures (below -10°C or above 50°C) for extended periods, as this can deform the device and shorten its lifespan.
• Do not use the device during thunderstorms.
• Do not immerse the device in water.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Device Not Responding to Charging or PC Connection

• Check for poor contact between the USB cable and the device/PC.
• Inspect the USB port on the device and the USB cable for damage.
• Try using a different USB cable or connecting to another device/PC to isolate the issue.
• If the USB cable is damaged, contact support for a replacement.

5.2 SD Card Not Working Properly

• Re-insert the MicroSD card into the player.
• Check the SD card for physical damage.
• Ensure the SD card is formatted to FAT32 (only FAT32 is fully supported).
• Restart the MECHEN H1-Pro or perform a factory reset.
• Clean the metal contacts of the SD card.
• Verify the SD card has sufficient free storage.
• If issues persist, contact support with a video or photo of the problem.

5.3 Slow Operating Speed, Freezing, or Restarting

• Too many applications: Remove some applications to free up system resources.
• Software incompatibility: If you installed unknown third-party software, remove it.
• Poor Wi-Fi signal: A weak Wi-Fi signal can affect performance, especially with live streaming applications.

5.4 Forgot Password

If you forget your screen lock password, you can use the universal password 1235789 to unlock the player.

5.5 How to Remove/Deactivate Browser or Apps

To remove or hide a browser or other applications:

1. Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps.
2. Tap on the desired application (e.g., browser).
3. Select 'Deactivate' to hide the app icon from the home screen, or 'Uninstall' to remove it completely.
4. To restore a deactivated app, simply click 'Enable'.
