1. Introduction

5. Installation

The SONOFF POWR3 is designed for easy installation within your electrical system, typically on a DIN rail. Ensure all power is off before proceeding.

5.2 Physical Mounting

Mount the POWR3 onto a standard 35mm DIN rail within your electrical panel. Ensure secure connections for all wires.

6. App Setup and Pairing

To utilize the smart features of your SONOFF POWR3, you need to set it up with the eWeLink app.

  1. Download eWeLink App: Download and install the eWeLink app from your smartphone's app store (available for Android and iOS).
  2. Power On: After wiring, power on the SONOFF POWR3. The Wi-Fi indicator light should start blinking, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  3. Quick Pairing: Open the eWeLink app, tap the '+' icon to add a device, and select "Quick Pairing" to connect your POWR3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.

7. Operation

7.1 Remote ON/OFF Control

Once paired, you can remotely turn your connected appliances on or off from anywhere using the eWeLink app. This feature helps ensure safety and save on electricity bills, especially when you are away from home.

7.2 Power Metering and Energy Monitoring

The POWR3 is capable of acting as a smart meter, measuring active power, current, and voltage of your appliances. It tracks and stores historical energy consumption data for up to 100 days, which can be exported as a CSV file from the eWeLink app.

7.3 Scheduling and Timers

Set schedules and timers within the eWeLink app to automatically turn devices on or off at specific times, optimizing energy usage and convenience.

The POWR3 is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home Assistant, SmartThings, and Alice. Link your eWeLink account to these platforms and use voice commands to control your devices.

7.5 Home Assistant Integration

Multiple POWR3 devices can be centrally controlled, and their metadata and power consumption data can be displayed on Home Assistant (Hass) through the eWeLink add-on.

10. Troubleshooting

10.1 Overload Protection

The POWR3 features built-in overload protection. If an abnormality in voltage, current, or power of loads is detected, the power will be automatically cut off to prevent device damage and danger. Check the connected appliance and reset the POWR3 if an overload occurs.

10.2 Device Not Pairing

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The device does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Check if the Wi-Fi indicator light is blinking rapidly, indicating pairing mode. If not, press and hold the restart button until it blinks.
  • Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during pairing.
  • Move the device closer to your Wi-Fi router.

10.3 Remote Control Issues

  • Verify your internet connection and the device's Wi-Fi connection.
  • Check if the eWeLink app is updated to the latest version.
  • Ensure the device is not offline in the eWeLink app.

11. User Tips

  • For accurate energy monitoring, ensure the POWR3 is correctly installed and calibrated if necessary.
  • Utilize the scheduling feature to automate high-power appliances during off-peak hours to save on electricity costs.
  • Regularly review your energy consumption data in the eWeLink app to identify energy-hungry devices and optimize usage.
