5. Setup

5.1 Powering the Device

Connect the provided USB Type-C power cord to the USB port on the rear of the BOMGE 22M and to a compatible DC power source (e.g., a computer USB port or a USB power adapter).

5.2 Connecting to a Computer

Use a USB cable to connect the BOMGE 22M to your Mac or PC. The device is plug-and-play and typically does not require additional driver installations for Mac OS and Windows XP or later.

5.3 Connecting Microphones and Instruments

The BOMGE 22M features two combined XLR/MIC/LINE inputs. You can connect microphones (XLR) or instruments/line-level devices (6.35mm TRS/TS) to these inputs.

5.4 Activating 48V Phantom Power

If you are using condenser microphones, press the '48V' button to supply phantom power. The indicator light will illuminate when active. Ensure dynamic microphones do not receive phantom power unless specifically designed for it.

5.5 Connecting Output Devices

Connect your PA speakers, active monitors, or amplifiers to the two independent RCA stereo jacks (LINE OUTPUT) on the rear panel. You can also connect headphones to the 1/4" headphone output for monitoring.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Adjusting Input Gain

Use the Channel Decibel Faders (GAIN sliders) for Input 1 and Input 2 to adjust the input level of your microphones or instruments. Monitor the level indicators to prevent clipping (distortion).

6.2 Monitoring

The BOMGE 22M offers zero-latency direct monitoring. Press the 'DIRECT MONITOR' button to hear your input signal directly through your headphones without any delay from your computer. Adjust the 'MONITOR' knob for overall output volume and the 'PHONES' knob for headphone volume.

6.3 Recording with Software

The BOMGE 22M is compatible with popular recording software such as Avid Pro Tools, Ableton Live, and Steinberg Cubase. Once connected to your computer, select the BOMGE 22M as your audio input/output device within your software's audio settings.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Care: Always handle cables by the connector, not the wire, to prevent damage.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 No Sound Output

  • Check all cable connections (USB, inputs, outputs, headphones).
  • Ensure the 'MONITOR' and 'PHONES' knobs are turned up.
  • Verify the BOMGE 22M is selected as the audio output device in your computer's sound settings and recording software.
  • Confirm the input gain sliders are not at minimum.

8.2 Distorted Sound

  • Reduce the input gain using the Channel Decibel Faders to prevent clipping.
  • Check the volume levels in your recording software and computer.
  • Ensure cables are securely connected and not damaged.

8.3 Phantom Power Not Working

  • Ensure the '48V' button is pressed and its indicator light is on.
  • Verify your condenser microphone is properly connected.
  • Check the USB connection to ensure sufficient power supply.

8.4 Device Not Recognized by Computer

  • Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Ensure your operating system (Mac OS, Windows XP or later) is up to date.
