Your DBScar 7 device includes a 12-month online software subscription. You can choose one software package (Xpro5, ADS Pro, Xdiag, or Prodiag) for free activation. If you require additional software packages, an extra cost of approximately $75 USD will apply per package.
4.2. Device Compatibility
- The DBScar 7 device is compatible only with Android operating systems.
- Supported Android versions: Android 9, 10, 11, 12, 13.
- Important: Most Android 14/15 versions and Samsung Android devices may not be compatible with the diagnostic applications. Please verify your device's Android version before use.
- The device does NOT work with iOS or Windows operating systems.
4.3. Connecting to Vehicle
- Locate your vehicle's OBDII port (usually under the dashboard).
- Connect the DBScar VII adapter to the OBDII port using the provided OBD2 power cable. Ensure a secure connection.
- The OBD-15 interface on the adapter connects to the extension cable, which then plugs into the vehicle's OBDII connector.
- Once connected, observe the status indicators on the device:
- The Power Indicator should illuminate, indicating a good power connection.
- The Vehicle Indicator should illuminate, confirming connection to the vehicle's OBD system.
- The I/O Indicator will show activity for Bluetooth or USB connection.

5.1. General Diagnostic Procedures
Once the DBScar 7 device is connected to your vehicle and paired with your Android device via Bluetooth/USB, you can perform various diagnostic functions through the chosen software application. Refer to the specific software's in-app guide for detailed instructions on reading codes, viewing live data, performing actuation tests, and accessing special functions.
5.2. SGW FCA Unlock Procedure (for Xpro5, ADS Pro, Xdiag, Prodiag)
For diagnosing SGW (Security Gateway) protected FCA vehicles (Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Fiat models after 2019), follow these steps to unlock the SGW:
- Initiate a diagnostic session for an SGW FCA vehicle.
- When prompted with a message regarding the Security Gateway Module, click 'YES' to proceed.
- On the subsequent login screen, you will need to enter your software credentials:
- In the first line, select 'North American' (or the appropriate region).
- In the second line, enter your Xpro5 (or chosen software) login/username.
- In the third line, enter your Xpro5 (or chosen software) password.
- Confirm the details to unlock the SGW FCA system and proceed with full diagnostic functions.


Note: The DZ software does NOT support free SGW FCA unlock.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Storage: Store the device in a dry environment within the specified working temperature range (-10°C to 50°C) to prevent damage.
- Software Updates: Regularly check for and install software updates for your chosen diagnostic application to ensure optimal performance, compatibility with new vehicle models, and access to the latest features. Your 12-month subscription covers these updates.
- Device Integrity: Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts. Do not attempt to open or modify the device, as this will void the warranty.

- Software Issues (DZ Software): SN 9886xxxxx / 9887xxxxx DBScar VII devices currently do NOT work well with DZ software due to known bugs, especially for car brands like BMW, Benz, Kia, Nissan, Hyundai, and Ford. It is strongly recommended to use Xpro5, Xdiag, Prodiag, or ADS Pro software for better performance and reliability.
- Android Compatibility: Ensure your Android device runs Android 9, 10, 11, 12, or 13. Incompatibility with Android 14/15 and many Samsung Android devices is common. If you experience connection issues, verify your Android version.
- Connection Problems: If the Power, Vehicle, or I/O indicators do not light up as expected, check all cable connections and ensure the vehicle's ignition is on.
- Device Malfunction: All DBScar 7 devices are tested using a Launch IO tester tool box before shipping to ensure 100% functionality. If you suspect a hardware issue, please refer to the warranty section.
