2. Safety Instructions

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • This pump is designed for submersible use only in clean water. Do NOT use it to pump turbid sewage, corrosive liquids, or flammable materials.
  • Ensure the power supply voltage matches the pump's rated voltage before connection.
  • Always disconnect the pump from the power supply before handling, installing, or performing any maintenance.
  • Do NOT operate the pump on dry land without water submersion. Dry running can cause severe damage to the motor and shaft.
  • The pump is equipped with a 5-meter power cord. Do NOT modify or extend the power cord.
  • Ensure the pump is placed on a stable, level surface within the pond.
  • Keep children and pets away from the pond area when the pump is in operation.
  • Regularly inspect the power cord for any damage. If damaged, discontinue use immediately and contact qualified personnel for repair.

4. Setup and Installation

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the pump and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
  2. Placement: Position the pump on a stable, level surface at the bottom of your pond. Ensure it is fully submerged in clean water.
  3. Connection: Connect the appropriate outlet pipe to the pump's discharge port. Ensure a secure, watertight connection.
  4. Power Connection: Route the 5-meter power cord safely to a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for safety. Do NOT plug in the pump until it is fully submerged.
  5. Initial Check: Once fully submerged and connected, plug in the pump. Observe for proper water flow and listen for any unusual noises.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed and connected, operating the Jebao LP Series pump is straightforward:

  1. Power On: Plug the pump into a suitable, grounded electrical outlet. The pump will start circulating water immediately.
  2. Monitor Flow: Periodically check the water flow to ensure it is consistent and unobstructed.
  3. Continuous Operation: These pumps are designed for continuous operation in pond environments.
  4. Power Off: To stop the pump, simply unplug it from the electrical outlet. Always unplug before performing any work on the pump or pond.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pump:

  • Cleaning the Intake: The pump's intake is designed to handle particles up to 6mm. However, larger debris or excessive buildup can reduce efficiency. Periodically inspect and clean the intake screen to remove any accumulated debris.
  • Impeller Inspection: Disconnect power, then remove the pump's housing (refer to Figure 5 for screw fixation) to access the impeller. Check the impeller and ceramic shaft for any signs of wear, damage, or blockages. Clean any algae or mineral deposits.
  • Shaft Maintenance: The ceramic shaft is wear-resistant, but ensure it remains free of debris and operates smoothly.
  • Winterization: In freezing climates, remove the pump from the pond before temperatures drop below freezing. Clean it thoroughly and store it in a frost-free location, submerged in a bucket of water if possible, to prevent seals from drying out.

7. Troubleshooting

If your pump is not functioning correctly, refer to the following common issues and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Pump does not startNo power; Impeller jammed; Motor failureCheck power connection and GFCI; Disconnect power and clear impeller; Contact support if motor fails
Reduced water flowClogged intake screen; Blocked impeller; Kinked hoseDisconnect power and clean intake/impeller; Straighten hose
Pump making unusual noiseDebris in impeller; Dry running; Worn componentsDisconnect power and clear debris; Ensure pump is fully submerged; Inspect impeller/shaft for wear
Pump stops intermittentlyOverheating (thermal overload); Power fluctuationsAllow pump to cool; Check power supply stability

If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please contact customer support.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal energy efficiency, ensure your pond's filtration system is regularly cleaned to reduce the workload on the pump.
  • Consider the size of your pond and the required turnover rate when selecting a pump model to ensure adequate circulation and filtration.
  • Always ensure the pump is fully submerged before powering it on to prevent damage from dry running.
  • The 5-meter power cord provides ample length for most installations; avoid using extension cords if possible to minimize voltage drop and potential hazards.
