4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Attaching the Cable

  1. Identify the left (L) and right (R) earpieces and the corresponding connectors on the cable. The cable connectors are typically marked.
  2. Align the cable connector with the port on the earpiece. Ensure the pins are correctly oriented.
  3. Gently push the cable connector into the earpiece port until it clicks securely into place. Do not force it.
  4. Repeat for the other earpiece.

4.2 Selecting and Installing Eartips

Proper eartip selection is crucial for comfort, sound quality, and sound isolation.

  1. Experiment with the included eartip sizes (small, medium, large). One pair is pre-installed.
  2. Gently remove the pre-installed eartips by twisting and pulling.
  3. Select a new pair of eartips and push them onto the nozzle of the earphone until they are securely seated.
  4. Test different sizes to find the best fit that provides a good seal and comfortable wear.

4.3 Wearing the Earphones

The KZ Duonic earphones are designed for in-ear wear with the cable looping over the ear for a secure fit.

  1. Insert the earpiece into your ear canal.
  2. Guide the cable over the top and behind your ear.
  3. Adjust the earpiece and cable for a comfortable and secure fit. The cable should not pull on the earpiece.

The cable may include an inline control button and volume control. Use these to manage playback (play/pause, skip tracks) and adjust audio volume directly from the cable.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the earphones and cable with a soft, dry cloth. For eartips, remove them and clean with mild soap and water, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely before reattaching.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the earphones in their original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage from dust, moisture, and tangling.
  • Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling on the cable. The detachable design allows for easy replacement if the cable becomes damaged.
  • Avoid Moisture: The KZ Duonic earphones are not waterproof. Avoid exposure to water, sweat, or high humidity.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 No Sound or Distorted Sound

  • Check Connections: Ensure the cable is securely attached to both the earphones and your audio source.
  • Audio Source: Verify that your audio source (phone, player, computer) is playing sound and its volume is turned up.
  • Cable Integrity: Try using a different cable if available, or test the earphones with another audio source to rule out a faulty cable.
  • Eartip Seal: Ensure the eartips create a good seal in your ear canal. A poor seal can lead to a lack of bass and overall thin sound.
  • Tuning Switches (if applicable): If you have the tuning version, ensure the switches are set to a desired profile. Try resetting them to the 'all off' position.

7.2 Microphone Not Working

  • Check Connection: Ensure the microphone cable is fully inserted into the earphone and the audio source.
  • Device Settings: Verify that the correct microphone input is selected in your device's audio settings.
  • Compatibility: Some devices may have specific requirements for external microphones.
  • Cable Type: Ensure you are using a cable with a built-in microphone if you intend to use this feature.
