- Carefully insert the measurement pins into the material you wish to test. Ensure both pins are fully inserted and making good contact.
- Read the moisture percentage and temperature from the LCD display. The progress bar will also indicate the moisture level.
4.4 Using the Hold Function
To freeze the current measurement on the screen for easier recording and analysis:

- While taking a measurement, short press the Hold & °C/°F button (
). The 'HOLD' icon will appear on the display. - Press the button again to release the hold function and resume live readings.
4.5 Switching Temperature Units
The device can display temperature in Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).
- Long press the Hold & °C/°F button (
) to toggle between °C and °F.
4.6 Interpreting Moisture Readings
The device provides a clear indication of moisture levels based on the selected material mode. Refer to the table below for general guidelines:

| Moisture Level | Soft Wood | Hard Wood | Packing | Building |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DRY | <20% | <12% | <13% | <17% |
| MID | 20-26% | 12-16% | 13-21% | 17-20% |
| WET | >26% | >16% | >21% | >20% |
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- After each use, wipe the measurement pins and the device body with a clean, dry cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
5.2 Pin Replacement
Refer to Section 3.2 for detailed instructions on replacing the measurement pins.
5.3 Battery Replacement
- When the battery status icon indicates low power, replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings.
- Refer to Section 3.1 for battery installation instructions.
5.4 Storage
- Always cover the sharp measurement pins with the protective cap after each use.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
6. Safety Precautions
- The measurement pins are very sharp. Handle with care and always replace the protective cap after use to prevent injury.
- Do not let the probe come into contact with charged objects or live electrical circuits. This can cause electric shock or damage the device.
- Keep the device out of reach of children.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device. Repairs should only be performed by qualified personnel.

7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Device Not Turning On
- Check if the batteries are installed correctly with the correct polarity.
- Replace old or depleted batteries with new ones.
7.2 Inaccurate Readings
- Ensure the correct material mode is selected for the material being tested.
- Verify that the measurement pins are clean and not bent or damaged. Replace if necessary.
- Make sure the pins are fully inserted into the material and making good contact.
- If there is visible moisture on the surface, wipe it dry with a cloth and wait 3 minutes before testing.
- Test multiple spots on the material for a more representative reading.
7.3 Display Issues
- If the display is dim or flickering, replace the batteries.
- Extreme temperatures or humidity can affect display performance. Operate within specified environmental conditions.

9. User Tips
- Surface Preparation: Always ensure the surface of the material is clean and dry before taking a measurement. If there is visible moisture, wipe it dry and wait at least 3 minutes for the surface to normalize.
- Multiple Readings: For best results, take several readings in different spots on the material. This helps account for variations in moisture distribution.
- Pin Penetration: Ensure the pins penetrate the material sufficiently to get an accurate internal moisture reading, especially for thicker materials.
- Environmental Factors: Extreme ambient temperatures or humidity can influence readings. Allow the meter to acclimate to the environment where measurements are being taken.
- Calibration Check: While not explicitly mentioned, it's good practice to periodically check the meter's accuracy using a known dry sample if available, or by comparing readings with another trusted meter.
