1. Introduction

The iGPSPORT TL50 is an advanced smart bicycle taillight designed to significantly improve your visibility and safety during cycling. This ultra-lightweight device, weighing approximately 23g, integrates intelligent features such as automatic brake light detection, hazard warning flashes, and smart light sensing. It offers six distinct lighting modes and boasts a long battery life, making it suitable for various riding conditions and durations. The TL50 can be controlled via a compatible bike computer or a dedicated mobile application, and supports synchronization with Shimano Di2 systems for seamless operation.

2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your iGPSPORT TL50 Smart Taillight, please verify that all the following components are included:

3. Installation Guide

Follow these steps to correctly install your TL50 Smart Taillight onto your bicycle's saddle rails:

  1. Attach the M30 saddle mount base to the saddle rails using the provided screws and hex wrench. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  2. Place the TL50 taillight onto the mounted base.
  3. Rotate the taillight clockwise until it clicks into place, indicating it is locked.
  4. To remove, press the release tab and rotate counter-clockwise.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the button for 1.5 seconds.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the button for 1.5 seconds.

4.2 Light Mode Switching

  • After turning the light on, short press the button to cycle through the available lighting modes.
  • Lighting modes can also be adjusted via a compatible iGPSPORT bike computer or the iGPSPORT mobile application.

4.3 Smart Memory

The TL50 taillight automatically remembers the last used lighting mode. When powered on again, it will default to the mode that was active before it was turned off.

4.4 Restore Default Settings

To restore the taillight to its factory default settings:

  • While the device is powered off, press and hold the button for 5 seconds.
  • The light will flash rapidly three times, indicating a successful reset.
  • Caution: Performing a reset will clear all personal settings and data. Proceed with care.

5. Special Features

  • Ultra-Lightweight Design: Weighing just 23g, the TL50 offers a timeless, ring-shaped design with a premium finish, perfect for any bike.
  • Bright Brake Light: A built-in high-precision accelerometer automatically brightens the light when braking, actively alerting vehicles behind you. Brake brightness is customizable via the app.
  • Hazard Warning Flash: When you make a temporary stop, the taillight automatically switches to a hazard flash, sending continuous safety alerts.
  • Ultra-Wide Visibility: Visible from up to 1.2 km, with a maximum brightness of 50 lm and an ultra-wide 280° viewing angle, ensuring no blind spots and all-round protection.
  • Smart Light Control: Front and tail lights can connect automatically when nearby, enabling one-touch sync for seamless on/off control. The light can also be controlled via your bike computer or the iGPSPORT app to check precise battery levels and switch light modes.
  • SHIMANO Di2 Control: Use Di2 to turn the light on/off and switch modes for smoother, safer rides.
  • Auto Sleep/Wake: Automatically enters sleep mode when idle for 120 seconds (customizable via app) and wakes up on your next ride or when a button is pressed, making cycling effortless.
  • Team Sync: Multiple same-model taillights within 50 meters can flash in sync, enhancing visibility for group rides.
  • Smart Light Sensing: Automatically turns on in the dark, stays on standby during the day, and adjusts brightness according to ambient light.

5.1 Lighting Modes

The TL50 offers six distinct lighting modes to suit various riding conditions:

6. Connecting to Devices

6.1 Connecting to a Bike Computer

To connect your TL50 taillight to a compatible iGPSPORT bike computer:

  1. Ensure the TL50 is powered on.
  2. On your bike computer, navigate to: System Menu >> Sensor >> Add Sensor >> Light.
  3. Select Search for Bluetooth Sensor to find and pair with your TL50.

6.2 Connecting to the iGPSPORT App

To connect your TL50 taillight to the iGPSPORT mobile application:

  1. Ensure the TL50 is powered on.
  2. Open the iGPSPORT app on your smartphone.
  3. Tap Device >> Add Device >> Light Products to search for and pair with your TL50.

7. Charging Instructions

To charge your TL50 Smart Taillight, please follow these steps:

  1. Power off the taillight.
  2. Gently remove the weather cap covering the charging port.
  3. Insert the provided USB Type-C charging cable into the port.
  4. Once charging is complete, disconnect the charging cable.
  5. Securely close the weather cap to maintain the taillight's waterproof performance and ensure normal operation.

7.1 Charging Notes

  • A full charge from a completely depleted battery takes approximately 1.5 hours.
  • Due to slow self-discharge, it is recommended to recharge the taillight every six months if it will not be used for an extended period. This helps prevent battery damage.

  • When storing the taillight in enclosed or flammable environments (e.g., pockets, backpacks), ensure it is powered off to prevent accidental activation and potential hazards.
  • Do not shine the light directly into your eyes or the eyes of others, as this may cause eye injury.
  • The device has an IPX7 waterproof rating, making it suitable for use in rainy conditions. However, do not immerse the device in water for extended periods. Always ensure the weather cap is securely closed during use.
  • Keep this product out of reach of children to prevent misuse.

11. User Tips

  • Mounting Options: The TL50 typically comes with an M30 saddle mount. If you require alternative mounting solutions or are purchasing the light only, confirm if the mount is included or needs to be acquired separately to ensure compatibility with your bike setup.
  • App Customization: Utilize the iGPSPORT app to fine-tune custom lighting modes, adjust brake light brightness, and modify the auto sleep/wake duration for a personalized riding experience.
  • Battery Preservation: For optimal battery longevity, remember to fully charge the taillight every six months, even if it's not in regular use, to prevent deep discharge.
