Setup
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, disassemble all removable parts (water tank, portafilter, cup) and wash them with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Charging the Device: Connect the provided 30W fast charger to the device. The 13500mAh battery takes approximately 2-2.5 hours to fully charge. The battery indicator lights on the device will show the charging status.
- Assembly: Refer to Figure 2 for proper assembly. Ensure all parts are securely fastened.
- Water Filling: Fill the water tank with fresh water. The maximum capacity is 80ml. Do not overfill.
- Coffee Preparation:
- Grind your coffee beans to an espresso-fine consistency.
- Fill the 58mm portafilter basket with your desired amount of ground coffee.
- Distribute the coffee grounds evenly and tamp firmly.
- Attach the filled portafilter basket to the main body of the coffee maker.
Operating Instructions
The CERA PCM03S-Max offers both self-heating and direct extraction options.
- Power On: Press and hold the power button until the indicator lights illuminate.
- Self-Heating (Optional): If using cold water, press the heating button. The device will heat 70ml of water from 25°C to brewing temperature in approximately 3-4 minutes. The indicator will change when heating is complete.
- Espresso Extraction: Once the water is at the desired temperature (or if you filled with hot water), press the extraction button. The device will apply up to 20 Bar of pressure to extract your espresso.
- App Control (Advanced): For customized brewing, download the official CERA app. The app allows you to adjust pre-infusion time, extraction time, and target temperature.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your espresso maker.
- After Each Use:
- Remove the portafilter and discard the used coffee grounds.
- Rinse the portafilter basket and espresso cup with warm water.
- Wipe down the exterior of the device with a damp cloth.
- Deep Cleaning (Periodically):
- Disassemble all removable parts as shown in Figure 2.
- Wash all parts with warm soapy water and a soft brush to remove any coffee residue.
- Rinse thoroughly to ensure no soap remains.
- Allow all components to air dry completely before reassembling or storing.
- Storage: Store the device in a clean, dry place. Ensure the battery is charged periodically if storing for extended periods to maintain battery health.
Troubleshooting
- Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is fully charged. Connect to the charger and try again.
- No water flow during extraction: Check if the water tank is filled. Ensure the coffee grounds are not tamped too tightly, which can block water flow. Clean the portafilter and shower screen for any blockages.
- Coffee tastes weak or watery: Adjust your coffee grind size to be finer. Increase the amount of coffee used. Ensure proper tamping pressure.
- Coffee tastes bitter or burnt: Adjust your coffee grind size to be coarser. Reduce the extraction time. Ensure the water temperature is not too high (if using app control).
- Heating function not working: Ensure the device has sufficient battery charge. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
