5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean your CallToU devices, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. While transmitters are IP55 rated, avoid submerging them in water for extended periods.

5.2 Battery Care

  • Recharge the portable receiver when the low battery alert is indicated.
  • For optimal battery life, avoid completely draining the battery frequently.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Receiver Not Alerting

  • Check Power: Ensure the portable receiver is charged and powered on. If using a plug-in receiver, ensure it is properly plugged into a power outlet.
  • Check Range: Verify that the transmitter is within the operational range of the receiver (up to 500ft/152m in open areas). Walls and obstacles can reduce this range.
  • Check Volume/Ringtone: Ensure the receiver's volume is not set to minimum or 'Flash Only' mode if an audible alert is desired.
  • Pairing: If a new transmitter is not working, it may need to be paired with the receiver. Refer to the specific pairing instructions in your detailed user manual.

6.2 Low Battery Alert

If the portable receiver indicates a low battery, connect it to a USB power source using the provided USB Type-C cable for charging.

  • Test Range Regularly: Periodically test the range of your call buttons, especially after moving furniture or adding new electronic devices, to ensure reliable signal transmission.
  • Silent Alerts: Utilize the 'Flash Only' ringtone option or turn off the ringer on the portable receiver for silent notifications, which can be useful during nighttime or when the caregiver needs to avoid disturbing others.
  • Caregiver Convenience: Caregivers can press the OFF button on the receiver to silence the alert once assistance is acknowledged, preventing continuous noise.
  • Freedom and Peace of Mind: The system allows individuals needing care to have more freedom around the house, in the garden, or while doing light chores, knowing help is just a button press away. This can also provide caregivers with greater peace of mind.
