This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your TRV-804 valve.

5. Installation and Initial Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Remove the battery cover from the TRV-804 valve.
  2. Insert 3 x 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Replace the battery cover.

5.2 Mounting the Valve

The TRV-804 valve features a standard M30*1.5mm thread size. If your radiator valve has a different thread, use the appropriate adapter from the included pack.

  1. Remove your existing thermostatic radiator head.
  2. If necessary, attach the correct adapter to your radiator valve.
  3. Screw the TRV-804 onto the radiator valve or adapter until secure.

5.3 App Connection (Tuya Smart / Smart Life)

The TRV-804 can be controlled via the Tuya Smart or Smart Life application on your smartphone.

  • For Wi-Fi Model (TRV-804WF): Connects directly to your home Wi-Fi network. No additional gateway is required.
  • For Zigbee Model (TRV-804ZB): Requires a Tuya Zigbee gateway hub for smartphone remote control. Ensure your Zigbee gateway is set up and connected to the app first.
  1. Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. Select the appropriate device type (e.g., Thermostat or Radiator Valve).
  4. Put the TRV-804 into pairing mode (refer to the device's display or specific instructions for pairing mode activation).
  5. Complete the pairing process within the app.

6. Operating Modes

The TRV-804 offers several operating modes to suit your heating needs:

  • Manual Mode: Allows you to set the temperature directly on the device or via the app.
  • Auto (Programmable) Mode: Follows a pre-set heating schedule.
  • ECO Mode: An energy-saving mode with a customizable lower temperature setting.
  • Comfort Mode: A mode designed for optimal comfort, with a customizable higher temperature setting.
  • Anti-frost Mode: Maintains a minimum temperature to prevent pipes from freezing.
  • Holiday Mode: Sets a consistent, energy-saving temperature for an extended period, useful when you are away.

7. Weekly Programming

The Auto (Programmable) mode allows you to set a detailed heating schedule. This can be configured directly on the smart valve or more conveniently via the smartphone app.

The TRV-804 supports three programming loop patterns:

  • 5 Working Days + 2 Rest Days: Separate schedules for weekdays and weekends.
  • 6 Working Days + 1 Rest Day: Separate schedules for six days and one rest day.
  • 7 Working Days: A consistent schedule for all seven days of the week.

You can set up to 6 time periods and corresponding temperatures per day for the Zigbee model, and 6 settings for weekdays and 2 for weekends for the Wi-Fi model.

8. Voice Control Integration

The TRV-804 supports voice control through popular smart assistants, allowing you to adjust your heating with simple voice commands.

  • Amazon Alexa: Link your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account to Alexa.
  • Google Home: Link your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account to Google Home.
  • Yandex Alice: (Check app for specific integration steps)

Once linked, you can use commands such as: "Alexa, set living room to 24 degrees Celsius."

9. Advanced Functions

  • Open Window Detection: If the room temperature drops by 3°C within 5 minutes, the heater will automatically turn off to prevent energy waste. This mode can be manually overridden or will resume after 48 minutes or if the room temperature becomes 3°C warmer. Ensure this function is enabled in the app settings.
  • Child Lock: Activate this feature to prevent children from tampering with the valve settings.
  • Anticalcare: This function periodically exercises the valve to prevent mineral buildup and ensure smooth operation.
  • Power Outage Memory: The device retains its last settings even after a power interruption, ensuring continuous operation once power is restored.
  • Anti-frost: When the room temperature falls below a set threshold (typically 5°C), the valve will automatically open to prevent the radiator and pipes from freezing.

10. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or in the app. Ensure to use 3 new 1.5V AA batteries.
  • Anticalcare: The built-in anticalcare function helps maintain the valve. No specific user maintenance is typically required for this feature.

11. Troubleshooting

  • Device not responding: Check battery levels and replace if necessary. Ensure the device is within range of your Wi-Fi router or Zigbee gateway.
  • Cannot connect to app: Verify your Wi-Fi network is active (for Wi-Fi model) or your Zigbee gateway is online and paired (for Zigbee model). Ensure the device is in pairing mode during setup.
  • Inaccurate temperature readings: Ensure the valve is not obstructed by furniture or curtains, which can affect local temperature sensing.
  • Heating not turning on/off: Check the selected operating mode and programmed schedule. Ensure the valve is properly installed and not stuck.
  • Voice control not working: Confirm that your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account is correctly linked to your voice assistant (Alexa, Google Home). Check your internet connection.
