3. Setup

3.1 Wiring Instructions

Important Safety Precaution: All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician and in accordance with local electrical codes. Ensure power is OFF before beginning any wiring.

  1. The wiring must be connected from the top input.
  2. Only 1 live wire (L) and 1 neutral wire (N) can be used (1L + 1N).
  3. Do NOT use two live wires (1L + 1L). This product is designed to cut only the live wire.
  4. When connecting, please tighten the connecting posts securely to avoid poor contact and potential safety hazards.

3.2 App Connection (Tuya Smart / Smart Life)

To utilize the smart features of your circuit breaker, connect it to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app:

  1. Download the App: Scan the QR codes provided in the manual or search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" in Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download and install the app.
  2. Create Account: Open the app and create an account using your mobile number.
  3. Connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure your mobile phone is connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The device only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
  4. Add Device:
    1. In the app, click the "+" icon in the upper right corner of the homepage or select "Add device".
    2. Navigate to the "Energy" category and select "Breaker" then "Switch module (Wi-Fi)".
    3. On the circuit breaker, locate the WiFi button. For single-phase meters, it's the third physical button from left to right. For three-phase meters, it's the third button from top to bottom.
    4. Long press the WiFi button for 5 seconds until the indicator light begins to flash quickly.
    5. Follow the on-screen prompts in the app to complete the pairing process.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Remote Control via App

Once connected to the app, you can remotely control and monitor your circuit breaker:

  • Power ON/OFF: Turn the circuit breaker on or off from anywhere using your mobile phone.
  • Real-time Monitoring: View current, power, voltage, leakage current, temperature, number of faults, total battery capacity, and recharge capacity directly on your phone.
  • Photovoltaic Metering: Monitor electricity input from photovoltaic power generation to the State Grid, with data available by hour, day, month, and year.

4.2 Voice Control

Integrate your circuit breaker with smart voice assistants for hands-free control:

  • The device supports Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
  • Once integrated, you can use voice commands (e.g., "Alexa, turn on the..." or "Hey Google, turn off the...") to control the connected device.

4.3 Protection Settings and Features

The device offers various adjustable protection parameters and smart features:

  • Over/Under Voltage Protection: Adjustable range (e.g., Under voltage: 80V-210V, default 175V; Overvoltage: 120V-300V, default 275V).
  • Overcurrent Protection: Adjustable from 1A-100A (accuracy 0.1A), default 100A.
  • Leakage Protection: Adjustable from 10-99mA, default 50mA. This function can be turned off.
  • Temperature Protection: Adjustable from 10-85°C.
  • Automatic Reclosing: The device features an automatic recloser (ON/OFF).
  • Reconnection Time (Delay): Adjustable from 10s-99s (default 30s).
  • Overcurrent and Leakage Protection Time: Adjustable from 1-30 seconds (default 5s). This function can be turned off.
  • Overcurrent Delay: Adjustable from 1s-15s (default 1s).
  • Loss of Current Delay: Adjustable from 1s-15s (default 1s).

These parameters can be set and adjusted within the Tuya Smart / Smart Life application.

4.4 Timing and Scheduling

Enhance energy efficiency and safety with programmable timing features:

  • Four Timing Modes: Timing mode, Countdown mode, Cycle timing, and Jog switch. Up to 30 sets of timing settings are available.
  • Time Period Current Setting: Set specific current limits for different time periods via the app.

4.5 Data Reset and Factory Settings

  • Electricity Consumption Data Reset: Long press the appropriate button (refer to device interface) for 10 seconds. When the screen displays "000", press the 2.3 key to change it to "111" and then press save. The electricity consumption data will be cleared.
  • Restore Factory Settings: Long press the appropriate button for 10 seconds. When the screen displays "000", press the 2.3 key to change it to "222" and then press save. The device will be restored to factory settings.

5. Maintenance

  • Connection Integrity: Periodically check and ensure all wiring connections are tight to prevent poor contact and ensure safe operation.
  • Network Environment: For optimal performance and to reduce latency, keep the device within 5 meters of your Wi-Fi router as much as possible. Ensure a stable network environment.
  • Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device Not Responding: Check the power supply and ensure all wiring connections are secure. Verify the device's display is active.
  • App Connection Issues:
    1. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
    2. Verify the device is within 5 meters of the router.
    3. Try restarting your Wi-Fi router and the circuit breaker.
    4. Repeat the app pairing process (Section 3.2).
  • Inaccurate Readings/Unexpected Behavior:
    1. Perform an electricity consumption data reset (Section 4.5).
    2. If issues persist, consider restoring factory settings (Section 4.5) and reconfiguring the device.
  • Protection Features Not Activating: Check the settings for over/under voltage, overcurrent, and leakage protection within the app to ensure they are configured correctly and enabled.

7. User Tips

  • Regular Monitoring: Utilize the app to regularly monitor your electricity usage and device status. This can help identify potential issues early and optimize energy consumption.
  • Schedule Automation: Take advantage of the timing and scheduling features to automate power control for appliances, enhancing convenience and energy savings.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app for any available firmware updates for your device to ensure you have the latest features and security enhancements.
  • Secure Wi-Fi: Always use a strong, secure password for your Wi-Fi network to protect your smart devices.
