  • Probe Care: Handle the probe carefully to avoid bending or damaging the tip. Clean the probe after each use, especially when measuring different substances.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power onDead or incorrectly installed batteriesReplace batteries with new 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
Inaccurate temperature readingsIncorrect sensor type selected; damaged probe; probe not fully insertedCheck sensor type in settings; inspect probe for damage and ensure it is securely connected. Recalibrate if necessary (refer to calibration certificate).
Data logging not startingLogging not enabled in menu; memory fullEnsure 'Logging' is set to 'Start' in the menu. Download and clear existing data if memory is full.
No data report generated on PCUSB cable not properly connected; device not recognized by PCEnsure USB cable is firmly connected to both the device and the PC. Try a different USB port or cable. The device should be recognized as a mass storage device.
Alarm not soundingAlarm function disabled; volume too low; incorrect thresholds setCheck 'Alert' settings in the menu to ensure alarms are enabled and thresholds are appropriate.

8. User Tips

  • For critical measurements, always ensure the probe is fully immersed or positioned correctly in the measurement environment.
  • Regularly check battery levels, especially before long data logging sessions, to prevent data loss.
  • Utilize the adjustable logging interval to optimize memory usage based on your monitoring needs. Shorter intervals capture more detail but fill memory faster.
  • Take advantage of the auto-report feature by connecting to a PC regularly to back up your data.
  • The IP52 protection rating means the device is protected from limited dust ingress and from water spray from any direction. Avoid submerging the device or exposing it to heavy rain.
