3. Setup Guide
3.1 Physical Installation
The IMOU AOV Dual camera is designed for wire-free installation, offering flexibility in placement.

3.2 Inserting SIM Card and SD Card
Before mounting, insert the Nano SIM card (optional, depending on version) and Micro SD card (up to 512GB) into their respective slots. The SIM card slot is located next to the SD card slot, usually under a protective cover on the back of the camera.
- Open the protective cover on the back of the camera.
- Insert the Nano SIM card into the SIM slot.
- Insert the Micro SD card into the SD card slot.
- Close the protective cover securely to ensure weather resistance.

3.3 Powering On the Camera
The camera can be powered via a DC 5V2A power adapter or the Imou Solar Panel. Ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive adequate sunlight for continuous charging.

3.4 Get the Imou Life App
The Imou Life App is essential for controlling and monitoring your camera. Scan the QR code or search for "Imou Life" in your app store.

3.5 App Setup Steps
- Scan the QR code or search "Imou Life" in Google Play or App Store to download and install the app.
- Run Imou Life App, and then register an account for the first use.
- Connect the camera to power source with the power adapter.
- Wait for booting to be finished, and then the camera indicator flashes with green light.
- Do the following operations to finish adding camera.
Note: If you have more than one camera, do step 5 to add them one by one. If the Wi-Fi network has changed or the indicator status goes wrong, reset the camera, and then do step 5 to add it again.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Dual-Lens Monitoring
The camera features both fixed and PT (Pan/Tilt) lenses. You can switch between views or monitor two zones simultaneously via the Imou Life app.

4.2 Smart Tracking and Digital Zoom
The camera can automatically track human or vehicle movement. Utilize the 8x digital zoom feature in the app to get closer details.

4.3 AI Human & Vehicle Detection
The camera uses AI to accurately detect humans and vehicles within a 25-meter range, reducing false alarms.

4.4 Smart Full-Color Night Vision
Adjust night vision modes in the app. The camera can automatically switch to full-color mode when a person is detected for clear, bright images. You can also use IR mode or turn off night vision to save power.

4.5 Two-Way Talk
Use the built-in microphone and speaker to communicate with visitors or deter unwanted guests.

4.6 Customizable Settings via Imou Life App
The Imou Life App allows you to personalize your security experience:
- Customizable Detection Zone: Define specific areas for detection to avoid false alarms.
- Customizable Alarm Sound: Set personalized alarm sounds.
- Protection Scheduling: Schedule the camera's active and inactive times.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the camera lens with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear image quality. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Firmware Updates: Keep your camera's firmware updated through the Imou Life App to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Solar Panel Efficiency: Ensure the solar panel is clean and free from obstructions (e.g., leaves, dirt) to maximize charging efficiency.
- Battery Health: While designed for continuous power, monitor battery levels in the app, especially during prolonged periods of low sunlight or high activity.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 App says "Failed to bind"
This indicates the device successfully connected to Wi-Fi but failed to link to your Imou account. Ensure your router has a stable internet connection and try again. Unstable internet is a common cause.
6.2 Imou Account Binding
For security, one camera can only be bound to one Imou account. To add it to a new account, you must first delete it from the previous one.
To delete a camera from your account:
- Method 1: Go to the preview page, click the gear icon (top right), navigate to device settings, scroll to the bottom, and select "Delete device."
- Method 2: Click "Me" > "My Device" > select the corresponding device > scroll to the bottom > "Delete Device."
6.3 Changing Wi-Fi Network
If you change your Wi-Fi or move the camera to a new location:
- If your camera has an Ethernet port and you have a cable: Connect the camera to your router via Ethernet. Wait for the LED to turn solid blue. In the Imou Life App, go to the device settings, tap "Wi-Fi Config," and connect to the new Wi-Fi.
- If no Ethernet port or cable: Reset the camera to factory default and set it up again with the new Wi-Fi.
6.4 Not Receiving Alarm Messages
Ensure the following:
- The enable button in the upper right corner of the channel picture on the main page is active.
- Imou Notifications are enabled in your phone's settings (e.g., iPhone: "Settings" > "Notifications"; Imou App: "Me" > "Settings" > "Notice").
- Event detection (e.g., motion detection) is enabled in the device settings, and the time schedule is valid.
- The device is connected to the internet.
6.5 Night Image is All Black
Possible reasons and solutions:
- IR LED didn’t light up: Check camera settings for IR illumination.
- ICR didn’t switch to night mode: This might indicate a hardware issue.
- Objects are too far away: Consumer cameras have limited IR distance (typically less than 10m). Ensure the area you want to monitor at night is within this range.

8. User Tips
- Data Consumption: Be mindful of 4G data usage. Daily live view, AOV record playback, and event record playback consume data. For example, 5 previews and 5 playbacks (1 minute each) per day can consume approximately 120MB of data.
- SD Card Storage: In AOV mode without event triggers, a 32GB SD card can store 15-20 days of video, 64GB for 30-40 days, 128GB for 70-80 days, 256GB for 150-160 days, and 512GB for 300-310 days.
- SIM Card Compatibility: The pre-installed SIM card (EU version) is only compatible with Imou 4G security cameras. Do not insert it into other devices.
- Solar Panel Performance: For optimal performance, ensure the solar panel receives at least 2 hours of direct sunlight daily. Actual battery life depends on sunlight intensity and the number of triggered events.
