5. Setup & Installation
5.1 Mounting the Device
- Attach the handlebar mount securely to your motorcycle's handlebar.
- Mount the EKIY screen monitor onto the bracket. Ensure it is firmly attached but allows for easy disassembly if needed.
5.2 Wiring Instructions
The device requires a 12V negative ground connection. Follow the wiring diagram carefully:

- **Red Wire (ACC)**: Connect to the motorcycle's Accessory (switched 12V) power source. This ensures the device turns on and off with your ignition.
- **Black Wire (GND)**: Connect to the motorcycle's chassis ground.
- **Yellow Wire (B+)**: Connect to the motorcycle's constant 12V power source (battery positive). This provides continuous power for memory retention.
- Connect the GPS module to its designated port on the main unit.
- If using optional DVR cameras, connect them to the corresponding input ports.
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.
Important: Power OFF the motorcycle before installation and power ON only after all connections are complete.
5.3 TF Card Installation
The device supports TF cards from 32GB to 64GB. Insert the TF card into the designated slot on the side of the unit (refer to Figure 4.1).
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Wireless CarPlay
To connect your iPhone to the device via Wireless CarPlay:
- Turn on Wi-Fi on your iPhone.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone. Search for the Bluetooth device named "xxxxx_xxxx" (the specific name will be displayed on the device screen).
- Pair your iPhone with the device and allow synchronization.
- Finally, click "Use CarPlay" on your iPhone.
- After the connection, wait a few seconds for the CarPlay interface to appear on the screen.

6.2 Wireless Android Auto
To connect your Android phone to the device via Wireless Android Auto:
- Turn on Wi-Fi on your Android phone.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your Android phone. Search for the Bluetooth device named "xxxxx_xxxx" (the specific name will be displayed on the device screen).
- Pair your Android phone with the device and allow synchronization.
- Wait for the connection to be established.
- After the connection, wait a few seconds for the Android Auto interface to appear on the screen.

6.3 Wireless AirPlay / MirrorLink
The device supports wireless AirPlay for iPhones and Autolink (MirrorLink) for Android phones.
AirPlay (for iPhone):
- Connect your iPhone to the device's Wi-Fi network.
- On your iPhone, enter the screen mirroring option.
- Search for "Carkit" and tap to connect.
MirrorLink (for Android):
Please follow the specific steps displayed on the navigation screen for MirrorLink connection.

6.4 GPS and Speed Display
The M16A-DVR model is equipped with a high-precision GPS module for accurate acquisition of latitude, longitude, speed, and time information, which can be displayed on the screen. Note that the standard M16A model does not display GPS location and speed.

6.5 Dual Lens Driving Recorder (Optional)
If your device includes the optional DVR cameras, they provide a dual-lens driving recorder function. The front and rear cameras offer a maximum viewing angle of 110° and record in 1080P HD. The cameras are IP67 waterproof.


6.6 Bluetooth 5.0
The device features Bluetooth 5.0 for stable and efficient connections. When connected to CarPlay or Android Auto, you can connect other Bluetooth devices (e.g., helmet intercoms) directly to the unit or through your mobile phone.

6.7 Screen Brightness
The 5.0-inch IPS screen has an automatic light sensing function and a peak brightness of 800 nits, ensuring clear visibility even in direct sunlight or dark conditions.

7. Maintenance
- **Cleaning**: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the screen and exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- **Storage**: When not in use for extended periods, store the device within its recommended temperature range of -20°C to +70°C.
- **Firmware Updates**: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and new features.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1 Device Not Powering On
- Check all power connections (Red, Black, Yellow wires) to ensure they are correctly and securely connected.
- Verify that the motorcycle's battery has sufficient charge.
- Ensure the ignition is on if connected to an ACC power source.
8.2 Cannot Connect to CarPlay/Android Auto
- Ensure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your smartphone.
- Verify that your phone's Bluetooth is paired with the device and synchronization is allowed.
- Restart both your smartphone and the EKIY unit.
- Check for any software updates for your phone's operating system or the EKIY unit.
8.3 Screen Not Responding
- Try restarting the device.
- Ensure the screen is clean and free from moisture or debris.
8.4 GPS/Speed Not Displaying (M16A model)
- The standard M16A model does not support GPS location and speed display. This feature is exclusive to the M16A-DVR model.
9. User Tips
- For optimal performance, keep your smartphone's operating system and apps (CarPlay/Android Auto) updated to their latest versions.
- Consider using a high-quality TF card for DVR recording to ensure reliable data storage.
- Adjust the screen angle to minimize glare and maximize visibility during different times of day.
- If experiencing intermittent connectivity, try forgetting the Bluetooth connection on your phone and re-pairing.
