6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning Optical Ports and Connectors

Regular cleaning of optical ports and connectors is essential for accurate measurements and to prevent damage. Use only lint-free optical cleaning wipes and approved optical cleaning solutions. Never use abrasive materials or solvents.

6.2 Battery Care

To maximize battery life, charge the device regularly and avoid completely draining the battery. If storing the device for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50% and recharge every few months.

6.3 Storage

Store the KP800 in its portable bag in a dry, cool, and dust-free environment. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to the charger and try again.
  • Inaccurate fiber optic measurements: Clean all fiber optic connectors and ports thoroughly. Verify that the correct wavelength and pulse width settings are selected for the fiber type being tested.
  • No VFL light: Check if the VFL function is activated in the menu. Ensure the fiber is properly connected to the VFL port.
  • RJ45 network test failure: Confirm that the network cable is correctly connected to both the KP800's RJ45 port and the remote adapter/receiver. Check for cable damage.
  • Touch screen unresponsive: Try restarting the device. If the issue persists, contact support.
