1. Product Overview

The MASTFUYI FY10 is a professional handheld infrared thermal imager designed for a wide range of industrial and professional applications. It features a 240x240 infrared resolution, a broad temperature measurement range, and advanced functions like automatic temperature tracking and laser positioning. With a built-in 4GB memory card, it can store a large number of thermal images for detailed analysis.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not point the laser directly at eyes or reflective surfaces.
  • Ensure the device is charged using the provided Type-C cable or a compatible charger.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or harsh environments beyond its specified operating range.
  • Keep the lens clean for accurate measurements.
  • The device is IP54 rated for dust and water resistance, but it is not submersible.

3. Setup

Charging the Device

The FY10 Thermal Imager is equipped with a built-in 3.7V 2500mAh lithium battery. Before initial use, fully charge the device.

  1. Connect the provided USB Type-C charging cable to the device's Type-C interface (3).
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a suitable USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  3. The Charging Indicator Light (2) will illuminate during charging.
  4. A full charge provides over 5 hours of continuous operation.

4. Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

Press and hold the Power On/Menu/Confirm Key (4) to turn the device on or off.

Basic Operation

  • Image Capture: Short press the Photo/Trigger Key (10) to take a picture and save it to the internal memory.
  • Laser Positioning: Long press the Photo/Trigger Key (10) to activate the laser for precise positioning and measurement.
  • Navigation: Use the Up/Down Keys (5) to navigate through menus and adjust settings.
  • Confirm/Menu: Short press the Power On/Menu/Confirm Key (4) to confirm selections or access the menu.
  • Back: Use the Back Key (6) to return to the previous screen or exit a menu.

Temperature Tracking

The device automatically tracks the highest temperature, lowest temperature, and center point temperature on the screen, displaying real-time values.

Color Palettes

The FY10 offers 15 distinct color display modes to optimize visualization for different inspection scenarios. These include DeepBlue, WhiteHot, BlackHot, Fusion 1, Rainbow, Fusion 2, Iron oxide 1, Iron oxide 2, Sepia, Color 1, Color 2, Icefire, Rain, GreenHot, and RedHot.

Adjustable Emissivity and Measurement Distance

The emissivity can be adjusted from 0.01 to 1.00, and the measurement distance is adjustable from 0.3m to 3m. Proper adjustment of emissivity is crucial for accurate temperature readings, especially on different material surfaces.

Temperature Alarm

The menu allows setting high/low temperature alarm values. When the measured temperature exceeds these thresholds, the device can alert the user.

Data Transfer

The built-in 4GB memory card can store over 30,000 BMP format image files. Connect the device to a computer via the USB Type-C cable to analyze the captured pictures.

Notes on Heated Floor Leak Detection:

Infrared thermal imaging visualizes surface temperature distribution. For subsurface pipe detection, pipes must be heated and pressurized. Leak indicators include amorphous heat signatures (blob-like diffusion) and temperature differentials (leak points appear bright white relative to surroundings).

6. Maintenance

Cleaning the Device

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device's body.
  • For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution to avoid scratches.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Storage

  • Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.

Durability

The device features a high-quality double-injection-molded body made from high-grade materials, designed to withstand falls up to 1.5m in height. It is also IP54 rated for dust and water resistance.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again.
  • Inaccurate temperature readings: Check and adjust the emissivity setting for the material being measured. Ensure the lens is clean.
  • Images not saving: Verify that the internal 4GB memory is not full. If full, transfer images to a computer and delete them from the device.
  • Laser not working: Check if the laser function is enabled in the settings. Ensure the Photo/Trigger Key is long-pressed correctly.

  • Experiment with different color palettes to find the most effective visualization for your specific inspection task. Some palettes highlight subtle temperature differences better than others.
  • Regularly transfer saved images to a computer for detailed analysis and to free up device storage.
  • When measuring highly reflective surfaces, consider applying a piece of electrical tape or a non-reflective coating to the target area and adjust the emissivity accordingly for more accurate readings.
  • Utilize the laser pointer for precise targeting, especially in cluttered environments or when focusing on small components.
