Installation and Setup
Follow these steps to install your components into the Cooler Master Elite 600 chassis.
1. Preparing the Chassis
Before disassembling the tempered glass side panel, place the chassis horizontally on a stable surface. Carefully remove the tempered glass panel. Avoid hitting it with hard objects as it is fragile.
2. Motherboard Installation
The Elite 600 supports ATX, MicroATX, and ITX motherboards, including those with back insertion (BTF READY) for optimized wiring. Ensure the motherboard standoffs are correctly aligned for your motherboard's form factor.
Figure 3: Motherboard Back Insertion Support and Cable Management
The chassis provides adequate space for cable management, hidden cables, and no messy wiring, especially with BTF motherboards.
3. CPU Cooler and Graphics Card Installation
The chassis accommodates CPU coolers up to 160mm in height and graphics cards up to 425mm in length. Ensure your components fit within these dimensions.
Figure 4: Component Clearance and Storage Layout
This image shows the maximum dimensions for CPU coolers and graphics cards, as well as the location for the power supply and storage drives.
4. Storage Drive Installation
The Elite 600 supports up to three 2.5" SSDs and two 3.5" HDDs simultaneously. Refer to the internal layout for specific installation locations.
- 3.5" HDD: 2 max.
- 2.5" SSD: 3 max.
5. Fan and Radiator Installation
The chassis supports extensive cooling configurations with up to 10 fan positions and multiple radiator mounting options. Fans are not included and must be purchased separately.
Figure 5: Fan and Radiator Placement Diagrams
This diagram illustrates the recommended fan and radiator installation points for efficient heat dissipation.
Fan Support:
- Upper Board: 3x 120mm or 2x 140mm fans
- Rear Panel: 1x 120mm fan
- Bottom Plate: 3x 120mm fans
- Right Side of Motherboard: 3x 120mm or 2x 140mm fans
Radiator Support:
- Upper Board: 240mm, 280mm, or 360mm radiators
- Bottom Plate: 240mm or 360mm radiators
- Right Side of Motherboard: 240mm or 280mm radiators
6. Front Panel I/O Connections
Connect the front panel cables (USB, audio, power, reset) to the corresponding headers on your motherboard. The Elite 600 features:
- 2x USB 3.0 Type-A ports
- 1x Type-C port (20Gbps)
- 1x 3.5mm Mic/Audio combo Jack
- Power Button
- Reset Button
Operating Instructions
Once all components are installed and connected, ensure all cables are properly routed and secured. Close the tempered glass side panel carefully. Power on your system using the front panel power button. The Elite 600's design promotes efficient airflow, especially when equipped with appropriate fans, to maintain optimal operating temperatures for your components.

The customized tempered glass ensures clear visibility without glare, and the chassis design supports good air circulation.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps prolong the life of your PC components and ensures optimal performance.
- Dust Filters: The Elite 600 includes dust filters on the top and bottom. Regularly remove and clean these filters to prevent dust buildup and maintain good airflow.
- Tempered Glass: Clean the tempered glass side panel with a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Internal Cleaning: Periodically open the chassis and use compressed air to remove dust from components like fans, heatsinks, and PCBs. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues during or after installation, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- System Not Powering On:
- Check all power connections, including the 24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU, and GPU power cables.
- Ensure the power supply switch is in the "ON" position.
- Verify that the front panel power button cable is correctly connected to the motherboard header.
- No Display Output:
- Confirm the graphics card is fully seated in its PCIe slot and has adequate power.
- Ensure the monitor cable is connected to the graphics card, not the motherboard (unless using integrated graphics).
- Overheating:
- Check if all installed fans are spinning correctly.
- Ensure proper airflow direction (intake/exhaust) for optimal cooling.
- Clean dust filters and internal components as described in the Maintenance section.
- USB/Audio Ports Not Working:
- Verify that the front panel USB and audio cables are securely connected to the correct headers on the motherboard.
User Tips
- Fan Selection: The Elite 600 does not include cooling fans. For optimal thermal performance, consider purchasing high-quality 120mm or 140mm fans for all available positions, especially if you plan to install high-performance components or water cooling.
- Cable Management: Utilize the 30mm rear wiring space to neatly route cables. This improves airflow and the aesthetic appeal of your build, especially with the tempered glass panel.
- Curved Glass Handling: The integrated curved glass offers a panoramic view. Handle it with care during installation and maintenance to prevent damage.
