4. Product Overview

The Vention Wireless HDMI Extender consists of two main units: a Transmitter (TX) and a Receiver (RX). Each unit features an HDMI port, an indicator light, a USB-C power port, and a function button.

4.1. Transmitter (TX)

  • HDMI Port: Connects to the source device (e.g., laptop, camera).

5. Setup and Installation (Plug and Play)

The Vention Wireless HDMI Extender is designed for easy plug-and-play operation. Follow these steps to set up your device:

  1. Connect the Receiver (RX): Plug the HDMI port of the Receiver (RX) unit into the HDMI input of your display device (monitor, TV, or projector).
  2. Power the Receiver (RX): Connect the USB-C power port of the Receiver (RX) to a charger or a USB-C power port (5V-2A) using one of the provided USB-A to USB-C cables. Turn on the receiver.
  3. Select Input: Set your display device to the correct HDMI input. The startup screen should appear, indicating the receiver is ready.
  4. Connect the Transmitter (TX): Plug the HDMI port of the Transmitter (TX) unit into the HDMI output of your source device (PC, laptop, camera, etc.).
  5. Power the Transmitter (TX): If your source device does not provide sufficient power, connect the USB-C power port of the Transmitter (TX) to an adapter or a USB-C power port (5V-2A) using the second provided USB-A to USB-C cable.
  6. Establish Connection: Wait for the indicator light on the Transmitter (TX) to flash, then become steady. This indicates a successful connection and mirroring will begin.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Indicator Light Status (Transmitter-TX)

  • Slow Flashing: Not Connected
  • Fast Flashing: Pairing in progress
  • Steady Light: Connected
  • Double Flashing: Transmitter Not Connected
  • Triple Flashing: Software Error
  • Breathing Light: Screen Casting Paused

6.2. Mirror/Extend Mode

The device supports both mirroring and extending your display, depending on your computer's capabilities.

  • Mirror Mode: Duplicates your screen for efficient presentations.
  • Extend Mode: Allows multitasking with separate displays. (Note: Your computer must support extend mode.)

6.3. One-Click Disconnect/Reconnect

To effortlessly control screen mirroring, simply press the Function Button on the Transmitter (TX) unit to disconnect or reconnect the display. This supports a single transmitter-to-receiver connection only.

7. TX-RX Pairing

The Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) units are pre-paired at the factory. If pairing issues occur due to improper handling or other reasons, follow these steps to reset and re-pair them:

  1. Initiate Receiver Pairing: Press and hold the Function Button on the Receiver (RX) for 3 seconds or more until "Connecting..." appears on the screen. This indicates the Receiver is in Pairing Mode.
  2. Initiate Transmitter Pairing: Press and hold the Function Button on the Transmitter (TX) for 5 seconds or more. The indicator light on the Transmitter will flash quickly while pairing.
  3. Confirm Pairing: Once the indicator light on the Transmitter (TX) stays on steadily, the pairing process is complete.

8. Troubleshooting (FAQs)

Q1: How do I reset to default settings?
A1: If the product malfunctions, press and hold the Function Button on the Receiver (RX) for 10 seconds. The screen will go black and restart, resetting to default settings.
Q2: How do I enter Privacy Mode?
A2: Simply press the Function Button on the Transmitter (TX) to disconnect or reconnect. This effectively acts as a privacy mode by stopping the screen cast.
Q3: Can devices without an HDMI port be used?
A3: Yes, but you will need to use a full-function HDMI adapter with the device.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure both the Transmitter and Receiver units are powered adequately, especially when connecting to devices that may not supply sufficient power (e.g., some laptops).
  • Place the Transmitter and Receiver in direct line of sight for the best signal transmission and to achieve the maximum effective range of 50 meters. Obstructions can affect signal quality and distance.
  • When using the extend mode, verify that your computer's operating system and graphics card support this feature.
  • Keep the devices updated with the latest firmware, if available from the manufacturer, to ensure compatibility and performance improvements.
