2. Setup and Installation

The product uses standard ISO and RCA plugs. Please connect or re-wire carefully according to the provided wiring diagrams.

2.2 Important Installation Note

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Panel Functions

The left side of the unit features the following controls and inputs:

  • MIC RES: Microphone Reset button.
  • Power Key: Press to turn the unit on/off or to put it in standby mode.
  • Volume Increase/Reduction: Adjust the audio output level.
  • SD Card Slot: Supports TF card for external audio and video input.
  • AUX Input: Auxiliary input for connecting external audio devices.
  • USB IR: USB port for media playback and charging, also includes an Infrared receiver.

The USB and SD card slots allow you to connect your devices and enjoy your favorite music, videos, and photos. You can also charge your devices using the USB port while driving. The ports support various formats and are easy to use.

3.2 Language Setting

The default display language is English. To change the display language, navigate to "Setup" -> "System" -> "Language" on the device's touch screen.

3.3 Bluetooth Connection

To connect your smartphone via Bluetooth:

  1. Open the Bluetooth interface on the car radio device.
  2. On your smartphone, go to Bluetooth settings and search for the device name.
  3. Enter the pairing code displayed on the MP5's screen on your smartphone.
  4. Once paired, the device will connect automatically in the future.

This feature allows for hands-free calling and phone book download.

3.4 MirrorLink/CarPlay/AndroidAuto (for certain models)

To use MirrorLink, CarPlay, or AndroidAuto:

  1. Connect your smartphone to the device via USB cable, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi.
  2. Click on the corresponding function on the device's screen.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Prerequisites:

  • For CarPlay, you need to activate Siri on your iPhone.
  • For AndroidAuto and MirrorLink, you need to install the corresponding application on your smartphone.

3.5 Steering Wheel Controls

The unit supports steering wheel button learning function. This allows you to program your car's steering wheel buttons to control various functions of the multimedia player, enhancing convenience and safety while driving.

3.6 FM Radio

The FM radio provides high-quality stereo sound. You can search for channels in full-automatic, semi-automatic, or accurate adjustment ways. Listen to music, news, and traffic information anytime, anywhere.

3.7 EQ (Equalizer) Settings

The EQ sound effect function allows you to adjust the equalizer settings of the audio output for better sound quality. It offers personalized audio adjustment options, allowing you to enjoy a higher-quality music experience. Access these settings through the "Audio Settings" menu on the device.

3.8 Rear View Camera Input (Optional)

If connected to an optional car backup camera, the car stereo monitor will automatically display the rear view reversing details when the vehicle is put into reverse. This feature aids in safe parking and reversing by reducing blind spots and helping to avoid obstacles.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 Common Post-sales Inquiries

Q: When the screen "flashes" or shows "AUX interface flag", "begin reversing", "No signal", "Camera", "Reversing", "back up", or "no video signal", how to solve it?

A: Please check the connection of the cables. If the problem persists, disconnect the Pink color "back/reversing line" wiring. This can often resolve the issue.

4.2 Power On Issues

Q: When installing the unit, it can't turn on. How to solve it?

A:

  1. When you install, please connect according to the wiring diagram. If connected wrong, the unit will not turn on.
  2. Do not use the original car plug directly. The PIN wired area may not be the same. Direct insertion may lead to wiring errors. (Due to the large number of car models on the market, the definition of the original car interface PIN is different for each car manufacturer).

  • Yellow: Power Positive
