5. Setup and Installation

The E-ACE rear view camera features a snap-in design for relatively easy installation. However, due to the electrical connections involved, professional installation is strongly recommended.

Installation Steps:

  1. Camera Placement: Mount the rear view camera in a suitable position at the back of your vehicle, typically near the license plate or integrated into the vehicle's existing structure.
  2. Connect to Reverse Light: Locate your car's reverse lamp wiring. Connect the red cable wire of the rear camera to the positive pole (+) of your car's reverse lamp. This connection enables the automatic switching function when reverse gear is engaged.
  3. Connect to DVR: Plug the camera's 2.5mm 4-pin connector into the corresponding input port on your E-ACE Car DVR.
  4. Power the DVR: Ensure your car DVR is powered, typically by plugging its car charger into the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
  5. Test Functionality: With the DVR powered on, engage reverse gear in your vehicle. The DVR should automatically switch to display the rear camera image with parking lines.

Warning: In strict accordance with the instructions to install, prevent the recorder burn. Recommended professional master installation. This method is for reference only and may vary based on vehicle model.

Once properly installed and connected to a compatible E-ACE DVR, the rear view camera operates automatically:

  • Automatic Reverse Display: When you shift your vehicle into reverse gear, the connected DVR will automatically switch its display to show the live feed from the rear view camera.
  • Parking Lines: The camera feed will include dynamic parking lines (if supported by your DVR) to assist you in judging distances and maneuvering into parking spaces.
  • Night Vision: The camera's extra-low illumination capabilities ensure clear visibility even in low-light or nighttime conditions, providing enhanced safety during night reversing.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Image on DVR:
    • Ensure the camera's 4-pin connector is securely plugged into the DVR.
    • Verify that the DVR itself is powered on and functioning correctly.
    • Check the red cable connection to the car's reverse light for proper contact and polarity.
    • Confirm compatibility: This camera is designed for E-ACE DVRs. If using a different brand, compatibility issues may arise due to varying image sensors.
  • Poor Image Quality:
    • Clean the camera lens for any dirt, dust, or water spots.
    • Ensure the cable connections are tight and free from damage.
    • Verify that your DVR supports 1080P resolution for optimal display.
  • Parking Lines Not Appearing:
    • Confirm that the red cable from the camera is correctly connected to the positive (+) terminal of your car's reverse lamp. This signal triggers the parking line display.
    • Check your DVR settings; some DVRs may have an option to enable/disable parking lines.

9. User Tips

  • DVR Compatibility: For guaranteed performance and to avoid compatibility issues, it is strongly recommended to use this E-ACE rear view camera with an E-ACE brand DVR, such as the A20 Car DVR.
  • Cable Length Selection: Choose the appropriate cable length (6m, 10m, or 15m) based on your vehicle's size and the desired camera placement to ensure sufficient reach without excess slack.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically check the camera's mounting and cable connections, especially after driving on rough terrain or through extreme weather, to ensure continued reliability.
