6. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Tripod is unstable. Legs not fully extended or locked; uneven surface; overloaded. Ensure all leg sections are fully extended and lever locks are securely fastened. Adjust leg angles for stability on uneven terrain. Do not exceed load capacity. Consider using counterweights.
Ball head movement is stiff or loose. Locking knob not properly adjusted; dirt/debris in mechanism. Adjust the ball head locking knob. Clean the ball head mechanism if necessary.
Quick-release plate not securing camera. Plate not fully inserted; safety lock not engaged; screw loose. Ensure the quick-release plate is fully seated in the ball head clamp. Engage the safety lock. Tighten the screw connecting the plate to your camera.
Leg sections not extending/retracting smoothly. Dirt/sand in leg sections; lever locks are too tight/loose. Clean leg sections thoroughly. Adjust the tension of the lever locks if they are too tight or too loose.
