5. Maintenance

  • Keep the tester clean and dry. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth if necessary.
  • Do not expose the tester to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Ensure the alligator clips are clean and free from corrosion for accurate readings.
  • Store the tester in a safe place when not in use to prevent damage.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Display is blank: Ensure the alligator clips are securely connected to the battery terminals. The tester draws power from the battery itself.
  • "Wire clip poor contact reminder" / Flashing/Beeping clips: This indicates a poor connection between the alligator clips and the battery terminals. Re-secure the clips, ensuring good contact with clean terminals.
  • Inconsistent readings: Check that the battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. Ensure the correct battery type and standard are selected in the tester's menu.
  • Tester not responding: Disconnect and reconnect the tester to the battery. If the issue persists, ensure the battery has sufficient charge to power the tester.
