2. Safety Information
Please read this instruction manual carefully before using the instrument and pay close attention to all safety warnings and guidelines.
- Do not exceed 600V when performing CAT III voltage measurements.
- Do not exceed 1000V when performing CAT IV voltage measurements.
- Ensure the multimeter is set to the correct function and range before making any measurements.
- When the battery indicator appears, the battery should be charged immediately. Low battery power can lead to inaccurate readings.
- Always disconnect test leads from the circuit before changing functions or ranges.
2.1. Current Measurement Warnings
AC and DC current measurements require series connection to the circuit. Failure to follow these instructions can cause severe damage to the multimeter and potential injury.

- It is strictly prohibited to directly connect the positive and negative poles of the power supply in the current measurement mode. Otherwise, internal circuit damage may occur, leading to the multimeter burning out.
- It is strictly prohibited to directly connect the positive and negative poles of the power supply to the current input jack when measuring voltage. Otherwise, internal circuit damage may occur, leading to the multimeter burning out.
3. Setup
3.1. Battery Charging
The ANENG SZ818 PRO is powered by a built-in 3.7V lithium battery. Before first use, or when the low battery indicator appears, the battery needs to be charged.
- Locate the Type-C charging port on the side of the multimeter.
- Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the multimeter and a standard DC5V power adapter (not included).
- The charging indicator will typically show red when charging and extinguish when fully charged.

3.2. Test Lead Connection
Connect the test leads to the appropriate input jacks on the multimeter:
- The black test lead (negative) should always be connected to the COM jack.
- The red test lead (positive) should be connected to the VΩHz jack for voltage, resistance, frequency, capacitance, and diode measurements.
- For current measurements (up to 10A), connect the red test lead to the 10A jack.
- For smaller current measurements (mA), connect the red test lead to the BAT mA jack.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the multimeter. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Charging: Regularly charge the built-in 3.7V lithium battery using a standard DC5V Type-C charger to ensure optimal performance and prevent inaccurate readings due to low power.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the multimeter in a cool, dry place.
- Auto Power Off: The multimeter features an auto power-off function that activates after 15 minutes of no operation to conserve battery life.
6. Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Readings: Check if the battery is low and needs charging. Ensure test leads are properly connected and the correct function/range is selected.
- "OL" Display: This indicates an over-range condition. Select a higher range or verify that the measured value is within the multimeter's capabilities.
- Multimeter Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is charged. If it still doesn't turn on after charging, contact support.
- Damage During Current Measurement: If the multimeter was incorrectly connected in parallel for current measurement, it might be damaged. Refer to Section 2.1 for prevention.
