  • Thermal Management: Ensure the thermal pad is correctly placed on the SSD during installation to aid in heat dissipation.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Enclosure not recognized by device.
  • Loose cable connection.
  • SSD not properly installed.
  • Driver issue (for older OS).
  • SSD not initialized/formatted.
  • Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the enclosure and the device.
  • Re-open the enclosure and ensure the SSD is correctly seated and screwed in.
  • Try a different USB port or cable.
  • For new SSDs, initialize and format the drive in Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac OS).
  • Check device manager for driver issues.
Slow data transfer speeds.
  • Connected to a slower USB port (e.g., USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.x/Thunderbolt).
  • Cable not rated for 10Gbps.
  • SSD performance limitations.
  • High CPU usage or background processes.
  • Connect to a USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps) or Thunderbolt port on your device.
  • Ensure you are using the provided 10Gbps USB-C cable or another certified 10Gbps cable.
  • Verify the specifications of your M.2 NVMe SSD.
  • Close unnecessary applications.
Disconnections during mobile recording (iPhone/Android).
  • SSD power consumption too high.
  • Insufficient power from the mobile device.
  • Use an SSD with power consumption less than 4.5W.
  • Connect an external power source to the enclosure's PD port if your SSD requires higher power.
TF/SD card not detected (AP42F only).
  • Card not inserted correctly.
  • Card is damaged or incompatible.
  • Re-insert the TF/SD card firmly into its slot.
  • Try a different TF/SD card to rule out card issues.
  • Ensure the card type is supported (SD/SDHC/SDXC/MicroSD/MicroSDHC/MicroSDXC).

8. User Tips

  • SSD Compatibility: While the enclosure supports M.2 NVMe 2230/2242 SSDs, ensure your SSD is NVMe and not SATA, as they use different protocols.
  • Thermal Pad: Always use the provided thermal pad during SSD installation. It's crucial for heat dissipation, especially during prolonged high-speed transfers, to prevent throttling and ensure drive longevity.
  • Cable Quality: For optimal 10Gbps performance, always use the included high-quality USB-C to USB-C cable or another certified cable capable of 10Gbps data transfer. Not all USB-C cables are equal.
  • Safe Ejection: Always safely eject the enclosure from your operating system before disconnecting it to prevent data corruption.
  • Magnetic Ring Placement: When using the universal adapter ring for magnetic attachment, ensure it's placed on a clean, flat surface of your device for maximum adhesion.

9. Safety Precautions

  • Do not expose the product to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the product to strong impacts.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the product. This will void the warranty.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Use only the provided or recommended accessories.
  • Disconnect the device during thunderstorms or when unused for long periods.
