1. Introduction

The Victor 7200C Digital Circuit Analyzer is a versatile and high-precision instrument designed for comprehensive electrical circuit analysis. 3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The Victor 7200C requires 6 x 1.5V AAA batteries (not included) for operation. To install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 6 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

3.2 Powering On/Off

Press the green power button (marked with a circle and vertical line) to turn the device on or off. The device features an automatic shut-down function to conserve battery life.

4. Operating Instructions

The Victor 7200C offers multiple testing functions. Always ensure proper connection of test leads and selection of the correct mode before performing any test.

4.1 Function Panel Explanation

Familiarize yourself with the device's buttons and display icons:

  • FUNC Button: Cycles through different measurement modes (e.g., RCD, RE, RL, IL, IA, VA).
  • HOLD Button: Freezes the current reading on the display. Press again to release.
  • TEST Button: Initiates a test in the selected mode.
  • Up/Down Arrow Buttons: Used to adjust parameters, such as RCD tripping current.
  • Power Button: Turns the device on/off.

Display Icons: AC, DC, RCD, RE (Ground Resistance), RL (Loop Resistance), IL (Leakage Current), IA (Load Current), VA (Load Power), Ω (Ohms), A (Amperes), V (Volts), Hz (Hertz), ms (milliseconds), % (Percentage), OL (Overload), HOT (Overheat), Low pressure tips (Low Battery), Backlight, Data hold, Auto shut-down.

4.2 Socket Wiring Detection

This function checks the wiring status of a socket and displays voltage, frequency, and phase information.

  1. Plug the device directly into the socket to be tested.
  2. The display will automatically show L-N (Live-Neutral) voltage, L-PE (Live-Earth) voltage, N-PE (Neutral-Earth) voltage, frequency, and phase status.
  3. Observe the display for any error indicators or incorrect wiring patterns.

4.3 Leakage Protection Switch Tripping Test (RCD Test)

This test measures the tripping time of a Residual Current Device (RCD).

  1. Plug the device into the socket protected by the RCD.
  2. Press the FUNC button until the RCD mode is selected.
  3. Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select the desired RCD tripping current (e.g., 10mA, 30mA, 100mA, 300mA, 500mA).
  4. Press the TEST button. The RCD should trip, and the device will display the tripping time.
  5. Reset the RCD after the test.

4.4 Ground Resistance Measurement (RE)

Measures the resistance of the grounding electrode.

  1. Connect the test leads: Green to Earth (PE), Red to Phase (L), Black to Neutral (N).
  2. Press the FUNC button until RE mode is selected.
  3. Press the TEST button to initiate the measurement. The ground resistance will be displayed.

4.5 Loop Resistance Measurement (RL)

Measures the resistance of the fault loop impedance.

  1. Connect the test leads: Green to Earth (PE), Red to Phase (L), Black to Neutral (N).
  2. Press the FUNC button until RL mode is selected.
  3. Press the TEST button to initiate the measurement. The loop resistance will be displayed.

4.6 Leakage Current Measurement (IL)

Measures the leakage current in a circuit.

  1. Connect the test leads according to the specific circuit configuration for leakage current measurement.
  2. Press the FUNC button until IL mode is selected.
  3. Press the TEST button to initiate the measurement. The leakage current will be displayed.

4.7 Load Current Measurement (IA)

Measures the current drawn by a connected load.

  1. Connect the test leads in series with the load to measure its current.
  2. Press the FUNC button until IA mode is selected.
  3. Press the TEST button to initiate the measurement. The load current will be displayed.

4.8 Load Power Measurement (VA)

Measures the apparent power of a connected load.

  1. Connect the test leads to measure voltage and current for power calculation.
  2. Press the FUNC button until VA mode is selected.
  3. Press the TEST button to initiate the measurement. The load power will be displayed.

  • Inaccurate readings: Ensure test leads are properly connected and not damaged. Check battery level.
  • No display or flickering display: Check battery connections and power level.
