4. Installation

4.1 Pre-installation Checklist

• Your smartphone or tablet is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network with internet access. (5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported).

• Your smartphone or tablet has access to the APP store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
• Your router is MAC-open (not restricted by MAC address filtering).

4.2 Wiring the Receiver

Connect the receiver to your garage door opener or gate controller according to the diagram below. Ensure correct voltage supply (DC/AC 9-30V or AC 85-250V depending on model) and proper connection to the motor/controller terminals.

4.3 DIP Switch Configuration for RF Remote Control

The receiver features 8 DIP switches to select compatibility with various remote control brands and frequencies. Refer to the diagram below to configure the DIP switches for your specific remote control.

4.4 App Installation and Device Pairing

1. Download the App: Search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" in your mobile app store or scan the QR code provided in the original manual.
2. Register/Log In: Register a new account or log in if you already have a Tuya Smart account.
3. Reset the Device: Power on the receiver. Press and hold the 'Reset' button (often labeled S1 or S2, or a small button on the side, see Figure 4) for 10 seconds until the network indicator (red light) blinks rapidly (approximately 0.5 seconds per blink). If it's already blinking fast, skip this step.
4. Add Device: In the Tuya Smart app, click the '+' icon in the top right corner, then select "Auto Scan". Wait a few seconds for the app to discover the device.
5. Connect to Wi-Fi: Once the device is found, click "Next". Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
6. Name Your Device: Assign a name to your device for easy identification.

4.5 RF Remote Control Pairing

To pair an RF remote control with the receiver:

1. Ensure the DIP switches are correctly configured for your remote control's brand and frequency (refer to Section 4.3).
2. Press and hold the 'Learn' button on the receiver for a few seconds.
3. While holding the 'Learn' button, press the desired button on your remote control. The receiver's indicator light should respond (e.g., blink or change color) to confirm successful pairing.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Mobile App Control

Once paired, you can control your garage door or gate from anywhere using the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app. The app provides real-time status updates (open/close) and a history log.

5.2 RF Remote Control

Use your paired RF remote control to open or close your garage door/gate. The receiver operates in momentary mode, meaning the output is active only while the button is pressed.

5.3 Voice Control

Integrate the receiver with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa for hands-free voice control. Follow the instructions in the Tuya Smart app to link your account with your preferred voice assistant.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

6.2 Deleting Paired Codes

To delete all paired RF remote control codes from the receiver, press and hold the 'Delete Code' button (often the same as the 'Learn' or 'Reset' button, refer to your specific model's markings) for approximately 20 seconds until the indicator light confirms deletion (e.g., rapid blinking followed by a solid light).

• Device not pairing with app: Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is on, you are connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, and the device's network indicator is blinking rapidly. Try resetting the device again.
• RF remote not working: Check the DIP switch settings for compatibility. Ensure the remote control has fresh batteries. Re-attempt the RF pairing process.
• Voice control not responding: Verify that your Tuya Smart account is correctly linked to your Google Assistant or Alexa app. Check your internet connection.
• Unsure about remote control compatibility: If you are unsure which DIP switch combination applies to your remote control, consult the manufacturer or seller for assistance.
