Setup and Installation

Safety Precautions

  • Ensure power is disconnected before any installation or wiring.
  • Installation should be performed by qualified personnel.
  • Verify the power input matches your motor's voltage (110V or 220V AC).
  • This board is NOT for swing gate openers.

Component Identification

Refer to the image below for identification of the control board components and connection points.

Wiring Instructions

Connect the necessary components to the terminal blocks as indicated on the board and in the diagram:

  • Power AC IN: Connect the 110V or 220V AC power supply to the designated terminals. The board's transformer is rated for 220V AC primary and 12V AC secondary.
  • Motor: Connect your sliding gate motor to the motor output terminals.
  • Lamp: If applicable, connect an external warning lamp to the lamp terminals.
  • Limit: Connect the gate's limit switches (Open and Close) to these terminals.
  • Signal: This section includes terminals for various signal inputs such as:
    • ANT: Antenna for remote control reception.
    • Com: Common ground.
    • Ph: Photocell input for safety sensors.
    • Vcc: Power output for accessories.
    • Start: Input for a single button or three-button switch.
    • Open/Close: Inputs for specific open/close commands.

DIP Switch Configuration

The control board features a set of DIP switches (1-8) for configuring various operational parameters. The exact function of each switch may vary, but common settings include:

  • Direction Control: Switches may control the motor's opening/closing direction (e.g., 'Not-R Normal', 'Opposite' as indicated on the board).
  • Operating Modes: Configuration for features like auto-close, pedestrian mode, etc.

Consult the detailed wiring diagram or a specific manual for your gate motor system for precise DIP switch settings.

Remote Control Pairing

The control board can learn up to 25 remote controls. To pair a remote control:

  1. Press the 'Learn' button on the control board. The 'Status' LED may illuminate or flash.
  2. Press a button on your remote control that you wish to use for gate operation.
  3. The 'Status' LED should indicate successful pairing (e.g., by flashing rapidly or turning off).
  4. Repeat for additional remote controls.

Note: Only remote controls with HCS301 or SN1646 rolling code chips are compatible.

Operation

Basic Gate Control

Use a paired remote control or a connected single/three-button switch to operate the gate:

  • Press once to open the gate.
  • Press again while opening to stop the gate.
  • Press again while stopped to close the gate.
  • Press again while closing to stop the gate.

Adjustable Functions

  • Working Time: The maximum working time of the motor is adjustable, typically up to 60 seconds, to prevent continuous operation if an obstruction occurs. This can be set via a potentiometer on the board.
  • Motor Output Torque: The motor's output torque can be adjusted to suit the gate's weight and movement requirements using the 'Open Overload Adjust' and 'Close Overload Adjust' potentiometers.
  • Auto-Close Function: This feature allows the gate to automatically close after a set period once it has fully opened. This function can be enabled or disabled and its delay time adjusted via the control board settings (often using DIP switches or potentiometers).
  • Midway/Pedestrian Mode: The adjustable midway/pedestrian mode allows the gate to open only a few feet, useful for pedestrian access without fully opening the main gate.

Safety Features

The control board supports an infrared safety sensor interface. When connected, these sensors detect obstructions in the gate's path and can stop or reverse the gate's movement to prevent accidents.

Maintenance

  • Keep the control board clean and free from dust and moisture.
  • Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or corrosion.
  • Ensure the area around the gate is clear of obstructions that could interfere with its operation.
  • Test safety sensors regularly to ensure they are functioning correctly.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Gate does not respond to remote controlRemote not paired; incompatible remote; remote battery low.Pair remote control; ensure remote uses HCS301/SN1646 rolling code; replace remote battery (12V, 27A).
Gate opens/closes partially or erraticallyLimit switches misaligned or faulty; motor torque setting incorrect.Adjust limit switches; adjust motor output torque using 'Overload Adjust' potentiometers.
Gate stops unexpectedlyObstruction detected by safety sensor; motor overload; power interruption.Check for obstructions; adjust motor overload setting; verify power supply.
Auto-close not workingAuto-close function disabled or delay set to maximum.Enable auto-close via DIP switches/settings; adjust auto-close delay (max 60s).
Gate motor runs continuouslyLimit switches not registering; working time setting too high.Check limit switch connections and function; adjust maximum working time.

User Tips

  • Always use a 12V, 27A battery for remote controls, not a 23A battery, to ensure proper function and longevity.
  • Ensure your remote controls use HCS301 or SN1646 rolling code chips for compatibility with this control board.
  • For detailed wiring diagrams specific to your gate motor and accessories, always refer to the documentation provided with your complete gate opener system.
